My wife and I have been shopping at Whole Foods for about a year now, the one in Evanston. It's gotten to be one of our secondary shopping sites. We generally spend around $50 there, usually for organic fruits and vegetables and dairy products. We also buy soups and small cans of tuna for my lunches at the office, and gallons of bottled water. We also like the grind your own organic peanut butter.
The food is fresh and there often is a nice selection. However, most of the food is more expensive than conventional stores, even, sometimes, organic foods in conventional stores. I've got friends who refer to the store as "whole paycheck" - and it's really hard to argue with them.
So, they have good food at fairly high prices, although bargains can be found.
I do recommend them, and will be going back.
