I bought this serger on a model-closeout sale, however, the seller was quick to note that the only change from this model to the replacement model was the model number. With all the same features of a newer model, I quickly snapped this machine up! It is easy to learn how to use, came with both an instructional video and a workbook, and I have found that the workbook has been great for learning how to use my machine and troubleshooting problems. It has a 3/4 thread ability, and is really perfect for the home sewer's use. I do find that some materials sew easier than others and when making towels as presents a few years ago, I found that I needed to do constant maintanence on the machine to keep it in running order- but this is not a machine issue, but a material issue- anything that sheds will gum up the machine without frequent cleanings. If you can find this machine, buy it- its a great serger and not that expensive.
