White Cloud Diapers —

We have three daughters, and we bought White Cloud diapers exclusively for the first two children because:

  • They are good for sensitive skin and were the ONLY diapers we tried that did not break out their skin at the time
  • They tend not to leak--our babies are very slender with skinny legs. This brand may not work well if the baby has a different body shape.
  • The price is much lower than many of the big brands like Pampers and Huggies.
  • They didn't seem to be as commercialized--I would rather pay less and get a plain white diaper that works well and doesn't break out my child's skin than to pay for fancy pictures and cute packaging. These do have some pictures but not of the cartoons and such that tend to drive up the price even further on some of the other diapers.
  • White Cloud diapers do not tend to have a smell like Pampers (unless, of course, there is a smell from another source...)
  • They are not bulky and I can pack quite a few in the diaper bag.

Here are a few of the drawbacks to White Cloud diapers:

  • I think they are only sold in Wal-Mart stores and some Wal-Marts may no longer be selling them.
  • We found that Parent's Choice diapers are lower in price and worked well for our third daughter, so we switched (now I'm making some cloth diapers to use at home to save even more money and to be a little bit "greener")
  • A few White Cloud diapers that we bought tended to have some quality control issues--the tabs would break off. I never took them back because I would just get another diaper and forget about it, but Wal-Mart does tend to accept returns with a receipt.

My Viewpoint:

White Cloud diapers worked well for our first two children at a fraction of the cost of some of the other diaper brands. Many babies with sensitive skin cannot tolerate diapers with perfumes or certain ingredients that break them out, and I hope that Wal-Mart continues to carry White Cloud diapers as an option for parents of slender children with sensitive skin. I suggest Parent's Choice or cloth diapers if you wish to spend less on diapers or would like to find something similar to White Cloud but can no longer find them.

I remember reading your review on these. I think diapers are a lot like jeans--different shapes fit different people. I bet Bryan won't buy White Cloud again! Thanks for reading and commenting.
