Most HelpfulI bought this Whirlpool WTW6700TW, which is the updated model of the 6600 because it now has the 4.6 cft capacity, after having just bought a Whirlpool Duet that broke after just 3 weeks. I had read so many reviews, both negative and positive and wanted to come back and give my two cents worth myself...

Most HelpfulThe cabrio gets the clothes cleaner than any of the other washers I've had. We farm, and with hard water (use water softner also) its been difficult keeping clothes looking like they are clean.
However, in forty plus years of doing laundry, I have never had a washing machine go out of balance,...
read full review »I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio HE washing machine less than a year ago after my trustworthy Maytag of 13 years kicked the bucket. I always have a mountain of laundry and I was so excited about my new machine. My husband took one look at after the guy had set it up and said "That won't last anytime. You won't like that." And had I not been trying to prove him wrong, I would have admitted I did not like it. The machine frays the edges of my towels and wash clothes. It really increases the wear and tear on them. In addition to this, coins can get down under the tub. They rattle around and will eventually...
read full review »I purchase my Cabrio Whirlpool Washer 6600 in January of 2007 and I started having problems in March of 2008 after the warranty had expired. First it would get unbanlance at every wash so I call a repair man. I spent $60 dollars for the call and he said I had to replace a part which would be $220 and the part had to be ordered. While I was waiting for the part the machine stopped having this problem.
Now July and August of 2008 I am having another problem. It is getting stuck in the wash cycle. So I called whirlpool and the rep. said to turn off the power braker for 5 to 10 minutes and...
read full review »Bought the Whirlpool Cabrio top load washer on 2/8/07. Have always bought Whirlpool washers, but this is THE WORST washer I've ever owned. My clothes have never been this dingy and just plain not clean. This machine makes king-size sheets into a tight rope and then ties them in knots. I cannot emphasize enough how much I hate this machine and wish I had my old 13-year-old Whirlpool back again. Whirlpool needs to recall these machines NOW.
I bought the machine at Lowes with the warranty. The salesperson told me that everything is covered under the warranty except cosmetice damage aand light bulbs. It workes woderfully for almost a year. Water started pooring out from the bottom. The tech came out and told me it was not covered unless you have the extended warranty. I told him I bought the warranty and he told me I was wrong and the computer said I didn;t have the warranty. I dug up my reciept and showed him. He was very unhappy and told me he would have to make some calls. He made his calls and informed me that it was not covered...
read full review »After owning my Whirlpool Cabrio Model # WTW6600SBO for two years I still don't understand how or if it cleans sheets on any cycle much less the designated "towel/sheet" icon. It wraps them up in a tight ball shortly after the washing cycle starts and the sheets stay in a tight ball until the machine turns off. After the machine stops the sheets are still in a tight ball inside each other. After watching the complete cycle I know they stay in the same ball throughout the complete washing cycle. The question is whether they actually are clean. What a ridiculous concept. The attached pictures are...
read full review »I have owned the Whirlpool Cabrio for a year. It is the worst washer I have ever purchased. I don't even want to guess how many clothes this washer has destroyed. Anything with elastic is trash when you pull it from the washer. Towels are wrung so tightly that the edges come unsewed. I can't say that anything gets cleaner than they ever did with other washers I have owned. I will never recommend this washer to anyone!!
I bought a new washer and dryer last year and I just love my whirlpool cabrio washing machine. I wanted something that was energy efficient and a machine that would save on water. We live in a community where you purchase your water so I wanted one that would save on water and be environment friendly as well. This washer is fantastic. It cleans well and has so many updated features. There are settings for clothing from your most delicate items to your heavy duty items. It is unbelievable how many clothes you can wash at once. Mine is an oversized model and it lives up to the volume...
read full review »This is without doubt the worst washing machine we have ever owned. We bought the Cabrio in November of 2006 and it has been a nightmare ever since.
It seems to get clothes as clean as our old machine, but keeping loads balanced is nearly impossible. It twists clothes into knots, leaving them so wrinkled the dryer cannot work them out. Putting anything in the machine with straps on it (tank tops, nightgowns, etc) is a no-no. As the machine tears them off. It is loud and, at times, vibrates so bad when spinning that water seeps out from between the lid and cabinet.
The accompanying dryer...
read full review »This washer will go out of balance with nothing but a single handkerchief in it. Taking the back off and watching it, there is absolutely nothing that holds the tub in place. It is suspended from 4 wires and as soon as the spin cycle starts the tub flails around wildly banging around on all 4 sides until it finally stops, tries to readjust the load - several times - then finally quits with a UL error. Ridiculous. This washer isn't worth $50 much less $800. Not only would I not recommend it to a friend, I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. Did Whirlpool even turn one on before shipping them...
read full review »We bought our Whirlpool Cabrio in July 2007. One month later we started getting the F1 error and washes would cease with clothes sitting in a puddle of water. It took 4 visits by repair men over a period of a month for them to finally decide to replace the drive unit. Needless to say our ability to wash clothes was severely restricted and hit/miss during this fiasco. I called Whirlpool several time to ask them if they could just take this @#@#%& machine away. Of course they wouldn't do that. The machine ran OK for about two years after that but now it leaks while running. It appears...
