Whirlpool Washer - Cabrio Top Load WTW6600SBT —

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio HE washing machine less than a year ago after my trustworthy Maytag of 13 years kicked the bucket. I always have a mountain of laundry and I was so excited about my new machine. My husband took one look at after the guy had set it up and said "That won't last anytime. You won't like that." And had I not been trying to prove him wrong, I would have admitted I did not like it. The machine frays the edges of my towels and wash clothes. It really increases the wear and tear on them. In addition to this, coins can get down under the tub. They rattle around and will eventually crack the pump to the machine. This will allow for a reasonable amount of leakage from the bottom of the washer. My machine will be a year old in May and I have seen the repair man four times. It cost $70.00 for him to remove 2 pennies from the bottom of the machine. Who has the time or the money to deal with this type of grief. It is a new machine, it should be trouble free for at least 10 years. I e-mailed Whirlpool to inform them of my problem and they responded with an apology and laundry tips. Do they think I am an idiot? I know how to wash clothes. Unfortunately the customer service ladies on the phone were about as helpful and comforting as a shot at the dentist office. My washing machine is crap and I had to admit that my husband was right. I now have to find a machine that is not made by Whirlpool and that I can afford to operate for the next 10 years.

To be honest, you should be smart enough to know not to put loose change in the washer. I don't blame them for giving you general laundry tips, because you have to exercise proper care over the machine in order for it to work properly. Feeding it pennies is not the way to lengthen its life.
