The whirlpool 9 year guaranty 50 gallon electric water heater is great. This unit remembers how and when you use hot water. With this knowledge it does not heat until just before you usually use hot water. This is a real cost in electricity saver. It expells very little heat outside of unit. It was very easy to install. Whirlpool is a very trusted band, and very pleased that I decided to choose the Whirpool water heater. We uses a lot of hot water, and we never run out of hot water. When we first installed it , the water heated up very fast.

I have the 80 gallon version with Energy Smart. So far, using the Energy Smart Mode, the water is not heated up to my setting. I've increased the hot water setting to a scalding hot 139 degrees, but during use, the water is heating up only to 116 degrees. Whirlpool support has not been helpfu, and instructed me to adjust the low temperature setting (factory set at 120 degrees). I'm looking for help on this.
