Whirlpool Washer - Cabrio Top Load WTW6600SBT
My husband and I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio top load washer, mine is a WTW6400SW3 model from Nebraska Furniture Mart 10 months ago. I liked it at first, I could wash larger loads than with my 10 year old, older style one. I have 5 people in my family, 4 of us girls, so we do alot of laundry.
Then I got to know the hell of owning a CABRIO! It sounds like a jet engine taking off in spin cycle. It only takes HE soap. I costs $1000.00. It takes 96 mins to wash a load of whites.
First I started to notice my girls clothes are really wrinkled. Jeans get all balled up and if you don't smooth out...

We bought the Whirlpool dryer a year ago and were excited about the energy savings, greater capacity. The dryer worked fine for about six months but it has been down hill since then. It takes over one hour to dry one small load of baby clothes and on average one and half hours to dry regular laundry. I have had a repair person come to repair it at least SEVEN times for problems relating to the long drying time. Each time the repair person came they replaced different parts but the problem continues. I had a new vent install but this did not help- did this on the recommendation of the repair...

Im going to let you know every time I have a repairman out because of this Cabrio. Today I missed five hours of work waiting for the repairman...... again. And again the bearings, and shocks need to be replaced. Grand total this time $465. Just a bit more than last time. Parts need to be ordered so in two weeks I will miss another five hours of work.
With the cost of repairs and lost work I could have purchaced two more Cabrio's.
Anyone telling you the love this washer is lying to you. My mother and a friend have the same model. They have had more problems than me! I dont mean just repairs. This...

All,
We purchased the Cabrio series a little over a year ago and suffice it to say neither the washer or dryer have met our expectations. And in retrospect I would not purchase either machine again.
The greatest disappointment is with the washer. Yes, it can handle considerable load sizes but we've found that small is better..in terms of wash quality and gentelness (meaning, no wrinkles). Larger loads including bulk items more often than not end up in a giant wad that resembles an unflattened pizza dough at the bottom of the washer. Clothes inside the wad are typically severely wrinkled...
