Our oven is about twelve years old and still works pretty well. The oven light has a short and doesn't work all the time and will randomly turn on if someone walks by it. The button panel has started yellow so it doesn't look very nice anymore. I like that it seems to bake a little hotter than other ovens so it doesn't take as long to bake and cook things, although I have to keep an eye on things so they don't burn. Cleaning the heat coils and the drip pans underneath is a huge pain! The next oven I get will be a flat-top. It takes a lot of time to take them all apart, clean underneath the cook top, the drip pans and the coils and then put everything back together. I also don't like that there is no time-bake. It is also a hassle that after pushing the "bake" button and then set the temperature you also have to push the "start" button or else the oven doesn't turn on. I don't know how many times I've thought something was done cooking and the oven wasn't on! I wouldn't ever buy this kind of oven again.

I replaced an oven from 1981 so maybe I don't know better but I love my new double oven. I am a cook, I make nearly every meal at home. I also do a lot of baking, cookies, cakes so I feel I have used this oven in most ways possible and I have had no problems at all. The doors close tightly allowing it to keep a stable temperature inside, the temperature seems accurate, I haven't had to adjust temperature or cooking time to avoid burning or undercooking anything I have made. I do find the upper runs a bit hotter when the bottom one is on but I imagine this is because heat rises from below. When I am baking in both at the same time, I adjust the top down 25 degrees and this seems to work just fine. I had read prior to purchasing that some customers had experienced problems using the self cleaning feature, they claimed it would burn out the control panel from the extreme heat. Well, the self cleaning is only for the upper oven which to me, isn't that helpful since I tend to use the bottom one most often. So, I decided to just not use the self cleaning feature, better safe than sorry. I don't need a fancy oven with all the bells and whistles, I just want one that keeps the correct temperature and works and this oven does just that. I am very pleased with it. My only complaint and maybe it is because I am on the short side, is that if I have something big and/or heavy in the upper oven, it is sometimes hard to get it out since with the door open, you need a fairly long reach to carefully remove an item, the door comes to my chest/underarm and it makes it difficult to get in there. But that is probably true of any double oven.

We remodeled our kitchen 26 months ago and purchased this oven as part of a Whirlpool pkg promo (oven, fridge and dishwasher). We replaced a free standing GE electric convection oven. Sorry to say wish I still my old oven.   This oven has given us plenty of problems, most of all uneven heating.  Thank goodness we purchased an extended warranty, we certainly have gotten to know the repairman pretty well.  Customer service is terrible.  No matter what temp I use on either oven, it doesn't heat evenly, loses heat and sometimes just shuts off.  A few times the oven was only lukewarm after being on 350 for an hour.  I've had convection ovens for years but the fan is noisy, doesn't always turn and a few times quit mid-baking.  The racks are not sturdy, downright cheaply made and rattle.  Worst of all, we've never been able to get the broil element to work.  The repairman has been out several times and has replaced numerous parts including the heating elements and some wires but to no avail. I've never used it enough to know if the cleaning feature works. Every meal is hit or miss, very frustrating.  Stay away from this oven.
