Whirlpool Gold Dehumidifier Reviews

I purchased a Whirlpool AD70USR0 dehumidifier in 2005.  The unit has a five year warranty.  It ran without any problems in my basement for three summers before failing in August of 2008.  Since then it has been repaired on two additional occasions.  The Evaporator has been replaced once and the compressor replaced twice.  It just failed again a month after repair, and it now needs a new compressor and evaporator once again.  It has only operated for about two months in total since last year.  It's obviously a lemon that can't be put back into reliable condition, but Whirlpool will not replace...

the dehumidifier, my question is does it really work as good as we think?   i know they work pretty good do to the fact you can see the things in the filter but how much is left in the air?  i guess that if it doesn't take everything out of the air it still takes some and every little bit helps huh........ i don't think i like how noisy they are.

For the type of product this was it really did the job. When I first had my child I steam cleaned constantly especially if the puppy had an 'accident'. We bought a Whirlpool dehumidifier which worked wonders. Generally, if it was summertime we would turn the a/c down to help because Florida is hot and very humid. A 5 hour job here for the dehumidifier may only be half the time in a dryer region. I loved to take it in the garage when I worked out because it would eliminate that extra heaviness in the air that Florida tends to have and make my breathing and workout go a little smoother.
