1. Tub size is great- very big. But I found if you filled it to capacity, even hardly soiled clothes did not get clean and things twisted majorly.
2. Great concept when designed to use little water, but does it leave your clothes clean or does it leave soap residue behind? Hmmm... maybe, maybe not! Didn't have one that was working properly to determine this.
3. Detergent/Fabric Softener Dispenser units are hard to use but you can get used to them.
4. Door is not reversible which is a problem for a lot of people. Go in wrong direction for the set up in most laundry rooms. The washer needs to go to the left of the dryer for the doors to open properly for easy transferring of wet clothes to dryer. You can use an empty laundry basket below door and slide wet clothes to dryer to get around this problem. Not the perfect solution but a solution. But for a 1000$ washer, should you have to deal with this?
5. I had problems with the washer allowing me to add another item when it said I should be able to do this function. Also, when it would let me in, water would drip everywhere.
6. Door latch doesn't seem sturdy and hard to shut.

Like the others, I was so excited about having this washer in my house. As I tested it with the matching dryer, I encountered problems such as: some items being ripped, and also a lot of shrinkage - even on items I had washed for years were now shrinking. Didn't know -- and still don't, whether this was from the temp of the "warm" water in my washer or whether it was from the very defective hot-running, with sharp edges dryer. I am inclined to believe it was the dryer that was the culprit. The main problem with my first Duet washer was it was not getting the dirty clothes clean. I tried washing them as many as three times, using "hot" water, which I never had used in all my years of doing work clothes, with the same results - dirty. I tried prespotting, et cetera. Also, I was having these terrible "drying" times so the store thought the washer was not spinning out properly. I think they were right but the two Duets after the first were far worse in the spinning out wetness situation!

The next two Duet Washers came to my house in a "frozen" state. It seems that the manufacturer pre-tests them and sometimes they still have water in the lines. This is supposed to be random testing that is done but the next two washers came frozen. The one was so cold that the one hose broke while they were trying to install it. Also, the movers would knock against the controls in the front ( which is also a problem - accidentally bumping the controls ) and it started the wash process. This caused water to come into a frozen machine ( pump and all ) and might be the reason they didn't work as expected as damage may have been done to them during this accidental starting. But that doesn't explain -- or maybe it does -- why they didn't clean properly, wring out the water correctly, made terrible noises while running, cycle timing completely different than the original one, or the terrible shaking of the machine which was definitely on a level surface and leveled properly.

Bottom line -- nice machine if it worked as expected, but it didn't -- doesn't and won't! Looks sturdy, etc.

Until these manufacturers start making a quality machine -- front loader or otherwise, do not buy this junk with outrageous pricing or put up with this shoddy workmanship.

I do NOT recommend this machine!
