Whirlpool Duet - Washer Dryer Review

I bought my Duet washer/Dryer set in Aug 2007, and I can honestly say that it has been "less than stellar." The good points are that they seem to get clothes clean, and it also appears to save water.

The bad: This washer is the loudest machine that I have ever heard in a house. To compare, having a wood chipper operating in the backyard was roughly the same volume as the washer in the house. I wish i was kidding about that.

On top of that, my 1.5 year old washer just quit working. The repairman estimated an $800.00 fix on a $698.00 washing machine.

The good news is that I can now be rid of it, and get a quiet toploader for significantly cheaper. Good riddance, Duet.
