I have had a love affair with my Whirlpool Duet front loader for almost 9 years. I have had NO problems except I needed the motor replaced once. Which I would expect. Energy Efficiency Where do I start? First, you can get about two to three "regular" loads in a front loader. Second, it uses only as much water is as needed. Third, you can control your water temperature yourself if you want to override the settings. Cleaning Time It takes a bit longer than a regular washer, but I would expect that because of the different cycles it goes through. One thing that does bug me - it usually gives you an estimated time of when your wash will be done. Sometimes, if the washer is really full the estimated time can be WAY off. I have gotten to know my washer so I don't have problems, but if you are needing your wash to be done and it says 40 minutes- don't overload and you'll be fine. Performance It gets soap film out of clothing better than any other washing machine. Because of the way it washes, uses low suds and rinses often, I found our clothing has lasted longer and doesn't dull as quickly. TIP- Keep the door open and the tray open at all times when not using. You will NEVER get mildew. Ease of Use The washer came with a video (maybe 10 minutes?) and all you needed to do was watch it and you are ready to go! Design Easy to use, I just wish the handle on the door could switch sides if necessary. Durability I have washed a king size comforter and two king blankets. It makes a little sound, but everything gets clean and I have only had one time in 9 years an unbalanced load.

This was my first front loading washer. I have always been using a top loading washer but needed a new one and decided to try a front loading one that would be more energy efficient. The Whirlpool Duet was on sale and was the right size for my family. The design of it is very nice and modern. We also purchased the same dryer while we were at it and love that too. There are a variety of settings that can easily be changed depending on what you are washing. I have found that all of my clothes get clean even if I fill it up with a lot of items. I have even washed delicate items and they have come out fine. I would say that a regular load of laundry takes about as long as most other washers. I have not washed anything with a lot of stains so I do not know how well it gets stains out.

I moved into a house that had this washer and matching dryer. I think they clean clothes well and also fit large loads such as blankets. I used to have to go to the laundromat to do large items so it is a pleasure using this machine. Energy Efficiency Our electric bill is cheaper so I think it works well. Cleaning Time Washer takes less time then a standard top loader. Performance I love that it doesn't shake and rumble on the spin cycle like top loaders. Ease of Use It has a lot of buttons but it is easy to use. Design Love the height. Great for people with bad backs. Durability The previous owners of our house had them for years and they still look brand new.

Whirlpool Duet Front Load Washer is so much more convenient than washers we have used in the past. We love that it is a front loader. The second best feature is that it is on a drawer that raises it up another foot or so. it makes putting in and taking out laundry so much easier than before. It also saves on the electric bill by using less water and by spin drying longer and faster to make drying quicker, easier, faster, less energy, etc. They also come in a variety of colors to just give them a funner, newer feel. I'd recommend this or a similar type washer to anyone. its been a relatively pleasant surprise. We have loved ours. In terms of usage, it has been about 6 years now and ours has never had a problem.

The Whirlpool Duet HT washer has made my life easier. Ordinarily, it would take me an entire day or two to do laundry; however, now, it takes me a few hours. The front load design allows for extra large loads, and as the advertisement suggests, you can successfully wash 16 pairs of blue jeans in it, as I have done! The motion of the clothes going up and over instead of being pummeled by the agitator of yesteryear's models, I would think that clothes would last longer being washed in these front load models. It's unknown whether it uses less water, as this is difficult to determine, but I will say that you will use much less laundry detergent in this front load model. Although laundry detergent companies want you to use their 'he' detergents (high efficiency), you can use it if you choose, but it's not necessary, just don't use as much If you are using regular detergent. If you notice a musty smell in your washer, just leave it open after you're finished washing so that the inside dries out. Again, the cleaners for your washer are not needed either!

This washer does not clean your clothes! Sheets, etc, roll around in very little water; stains do not come out; dirt does not come out. I called Whirlpool and they said they would send someone to check it. They did; he said not enough water was filling the machine. Whirlpool was not willing to do anything about it. I reported it to the BBB; Whirlpool did not care. Do not buy this terrible machine! Saving water is not worth unclean clothes.

Let me start by saying i was raised in germany where front loaders are the norm. For years i waited to find a front loader. I bought this one about 10 years ago and still love it. It runs great. My clothes are so much cleaner then a top loader. I can fit a big load in the front loader. It takes about a extra half of full load more then my old top loader. My clothes seem to last longer and look nicer then when i was using the top loader. It had several different cycles to choose from. It even gets my "grease monkies" clothes clean. The only down side to this one is that i can't choose a small load or half load. I will make sure that my next one has this option, but it doesn't happen very often that i have one of those anyway. I did have to upgrade my dryer too when i got the washer, since it just wouldn't hold a load big enough. But I bought the matching duet dryer and am very happy with it as well.

I would highly recommend the Whirpool  Duet washer. You really can wash 16 pairs of jeans without a problem. This machine can handle large loads without affecting its ability to clean. The duet also spins at such a high speed it cuts down on the dry time. If I have one complaint it would be the rubber around the machine opening tends to mildew unless you  wipe it dry or let air dry by leaving the door open.
