Definitely like the Duet dryer better than the washer.

Nine times out of ten I love my Duet set. However, the only thing that disappoints me is the duet washer. We have had trouble out of it since the day we got it. We bought an extended warranty and have even had the technicians come out to look at it with not much luck. Energy Efficiency It is very efficient. It uses very little water. We do a ton of laundry and definitely noticed a drop in our utility bills after getting this set. Cleaning Time It is a lot slower than the top load washer I had before this. However, I do most of the clothes we wear in cold so that does take it longer. I guess it cleans for an average amount of time in warm/hot. Performance Since the very first day we have had trouble with the spin cycle. Depending on what is in the washer sometimes it does not do an adequate spin cycle and the clothes are sopping wet. I mean dripping water they are so wet. We have also had it leak a small amount of water before on occasion. Ease of Use Very easy to use. Has quite a few settings but they are all self explanatory. Design Love the design. Modern yet simple. Durability Not so sure about this yet. Everything that has happened to it has been something we can work around. We have only had them a little over a year so I am interested to see how long it works since we have already had some problems out of it.

Do not waste your money on Whirlpool!

This washer is the most expensive thing I have ever wasted money on. We decided to go with the Whirlpool Duet 9250 based on all of the great reviews we had read on it. We are absolutely regretting it now. Sure, I loved the washer for the first three weeks that I owned it. However, one day short of four weeks it showed an error code of F6E1 and we were no longer able to use the washer. I called Whirlpool who was able to get an authorized service provider out 8 days later. The repair man was unable to fix it and had to order a part; new electrical control boards. Two days later we got a call from them telling us the parts were on back order. Another week went by and the repair man finally came out and replaced the control boards, only to find that the issue still wasn't solved. The repair man, authorized by Whirlpool, says that the washer is irrepairable. They filed a claim with Whirlpool to exchange the appliance for us. That was a week ago. Today I spoke with Whirlpool only to find that our claim was denied and now they want to try replacing the motor, which is also on back order. I've owned this washer 7 1/2 weeks and it's now been broken for almost 4 weeks. Whirlpool has the worst customer service ever! DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCE!

Overall good washer but have had problems.

*I have owned this washer about 6 months. It is big and can hold large loads. I like that I can easily wash comforters in it. I have had problems with it though. When I first installed it I did not have hot water attached to it and the hose inlet for the cold water kept getting clogged. I would get a LF error and the washer would stop washing. I believe LF stands for low flow. I had to slide the washer out and clean the inlet out, drain and restart the cycle. It was very frustrating. We then fixed the hot water and since the hot water has been installed we have had no LF errors. It does a good job cleaning even with so little water. I dislike that it is set to automatically go to warm instead of cold. I prefer to wash mostly in cold water. I dislike how hard you have to push to close the door. I know this is not a big deal but I always feel like I'm going to break something when I close the door. It is also fairly loud when it spins out and shakes alot.*

Good washer...

I have had this washer for a while. Before this I had never had a front loader washer. I was not sure what to expect from these types of washers, but I was willing to give it a try to save money on water. It seemd right away we started to have black mold grow on the inside of the washer. We never close our washer door after useing the machine, so I am not sure why this happened. A little bit of water leaks occationally from the door. It does not happen that much, and it is such a small amount, but I have noticed it has happened. The machine seems to wash clothes well, though. I use a homemade laundry detergent which consists of 3 natural ingredients and it has not caused a problem in this machine. After having this machine I definetly would buy a front loader again if this one dies. I am sure that these types of efficient machines will only get better with time, so there is no doubt these machines are worthwhile. The cost of this machine was not too bad, and it is a fairly quite machine.

The Whirlpool Duet Front Load Washer cleans well.

The Whirlpool Duet Front Load Washer cleans clothes well and can hold a large amount of clothes. I have no trouble putting my king sized down comforter into the Whirlpool washer and getting it really clean. I like the fact that you can purchase a pedestal to go with the washer. It's nice to have that extra storage space. Plus you don't have to reach down as far to load the washer. The washer displays how much time is left in the cycle in minutes, which I love. Also, the washer locks, so that my little boys can't play with it. The main problem that I have with this washer is that it is loud when it is washing clothes. I think that my washer may not be exactly level and so the noise is loud when the washer is running. However, I have bought stabilizers to put under each foot of the washer and have tried on many occasions to level it. My washer seems level to me, but it makes a lot of noise when washing. I even tried putting weight (three 12 packs of soda) in the pedestal to stabilize it, but nothing helps with the noise.

THIS WASHED ME AWAY!

Wow.I have to say that this product is amazing.Im not a huge whirlpool fan but this product changed my mind about whirlpool products.in fact, this duet front load washer worked better than previous washers i had.First off, this washer is a duet front load which suits my needs for washing since i have tons of clothes to wash.It has a single twist knob for controlling washing selections and a lcd monitor. capable of inputting washing features such as speed, type, temperature, etc.I really like this machin because it makes it easy to wash clothes with its easy controls where other machines i had would have like 5-6 different knobs to control the macine. But whats even better about this machine is its huge capacity for your laundry. And has a double layer twin turbo spinners making drying to the max.Overall, this is a must get washer for anyone.it doesn't matter wether you wash a little bit of clothes or a lot of clothes, this makes washing as easy as it can get and it ranges at a reasonable price.GET IT!

Does the job

I like Whirlpool Duet Front Load Washer for multiple reason. We bought this washer about a year back and once it was installed in our laundry room we never had any major complaints except for a few minor glitches. First of all I would recommend anyone to buy Whirlpool over GE because it simply is a much better designed washers. It has a water saver feature which indeed saves you a lot on utility bills especially compared to any washer that was designed pre year 2000. My earlier washer was a pre-owned top load washer that did a decent job but did use a lot of water. With this washer though one of the biggest complain I have is it has way too many options than you really need. This in turn has helped Whirlpool increase the price of this washer and justify it with the features list. In my opinion it is a little too expensive but if you are not absolutely bargain hunter then this is a perfect washer as it will not give any major issues to worry about for washing needs. And yes, it is very quiet as well. The last thing I will say is after wash is complete you won't find any trace of a detergent left inside, which is good.

Great washer

I love this washing machine.  I am a bigger person and I can fit 8 pairs of jeans and a few sweaters into a load.  Since I've had this machine I have not noticed a change in my water or electric bill.  The high spin cycle cuts down on drying time.  There is a delay option so I can load the machine at night and have it start before I wake up. That way my clothes won't sit wet over night if I fall asleep. If I start the wash and notice that I forgot some clothing, I can stop the cycle and add them.

The best washer

***I replaced my Maytag front loader because of mold around the door gasket. My Whirlpool Duet Front Load Washer is quite a workhorse when it comes to laundry. It saves water, gets my clothes ultra-clean, and uses a fraction of detergent...this all equals to savings and my clothes are so fresh and clean. Whirlpool service is also outstanding, since there was slight damage to the door when I bought the machine. It was replaced without a hassle and in a timely manner. I can't say enough about how happy my experience with this washer is. There is a filter under the motor that did get clogged and the washer wouldn't drain...it was easily remedied by cleaning the filter (we have pets and the hair occluded the drain) after removing the bottom panel to access the drain.***
