Whirlpool Dishwasher - "Quiet Partner 2" Built-in  — 

We purchased this machine 8 years ago when this house was built.  We knew next to nothing about dishwashers but since we have an open floor plan, we needed a quiet one.

This was "sort of" quiet when we first got it, but after 8 years, we're looking for a new one.  Dishes do not come out great and it makes more noise now than my new clothes washer. We're two adults so it's not like we have tons of dishes to do.  We've used dishwasher cleaner and we always use Jetclean and still no luck.

Look around and spend a little extra and really get something better for your buck.

I thinkthe new model QPII is less noisy than our earlier one which went out after 6 years ( Pots&Pans , Light wash switch stopped working and then soap dispenser wouldn't open on that one ).

We can hear it with TV running , but only if you concentrate . I remember the old one would be heard even lying in bed upstairs , but this one is quiet so you hardly know it is running.

But it has one problem , the dishes do not dry as well. They stay kind of wet . The inner surfaces of the washer also are wet (dewy) after washing , while the older one used to be bone dry.
Don't like the way the soap dispenser was moved to left center instead of right and down , but I think it is to prevent rust forming at the door hinge on the right side, so I can live with it
