I used this machine for 2 days. It was off balance and wouldn't spin on high for every load and took forever to have one load done. I called and had them pick it up on the 3rd day. I got it back today...3 weeks later. I was told it got a new motor. My daughter started a load of clothes she needs for basketball practice tomorrow at 7:30. Its now after 10:30 and that same load has been restarted 4 times because it stops and doesn't spin the water out. I am calling tomorrow and asking for a different washer. If they can't replace it with a different kind I will be going to another place to purchase one after I get my money back. I will not purchase another one like this and suggest you dont either.

I purchased this washer September of 2006, I purchased the extended warranty, and even renewed it again October of 2009. During that time I called for repairs 4 times, for the same issue, washer going off balance repeatedly, and stopping mid cycle. I have been so frustrated with this machine. Well it is in need of repair AGAIN and the extended warranty is expired! Whirlpools idea of helping was to offer me another extended warranty at a tune of $320.00 for 1 year. They sold "stupid" once, but get real... Unfortunately I just read the reviews from this site today! I called them back after being armed with the reviews from this site and they don't want to hear it! I spoke with more than one supervisor. Whirlpool will NOT stand behind the product that they KNOW is garbage. Wish I knew how to get a class action lawsuit on them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried to give this machine a chance and be open-minded since the agitator no longer exists in most washing machines. I've had this washing machine over 6 months and I can honestly say I truly, truly dislike it. Does it use less water? Yes, it uses less water. Does it get your clothes clean? Not even close. Does it spin clothes dryer? Sometimes, but when it does they are in twisted knots that requires ironing beyond belief. I honestly wonder if they tested this machine with someone that does laundry every day. I think they developed the machine only to satisfy the engery guidelines madated by the government. So in the end, it is like throwing 4 dirty kids in a bathtub with two inches of water and expecting them to come out clean and fresh.

I loved my washing machine when I first got it, THEN like a lot of you it started getting off balance everytime we tried to wash a load no matter what kind of load it was. I started doing research and found that people were paying a lot of money to NOT fix the problem and I kept looking for a solution and what I found was http://www.appliancepartspros.com/ after I read the comments on that site I was hompeful that changing the suspension ($66.00+/-) would help with the problem, from what people were writing on that site it actually sounded like the right parts for our problem. I ordered the part that day (I will put the part # below) and in a couple of days it came and our machine has never ...

We too bought from Lowes back in 2008, bought the extended warranty with it, just for the fear of "what if"...well it did.. Warranty runs out Jan 2012.. Back in Nove 2011 we started to get a error code F4 I think.. Well that was the whole computer system. Called the subcontractor that Lowes suggest he comes out replaces the whole computer system only for a month later for it to conk out again.. MID WASH!! lid locks so here we sit with our clothes in the washer half filled with water & Clothes.. Nothing no lights, nothing. AS far as the unbalanced loads, yes there have been a few and that was with towels or sheets. Repair man comes today to fix again.. Im curious as to what he will do & will be back with another post about that!! BUT seeing what I read here today. Yea I would NOT recommend!

I want my old GE back!

Overall

I had a friend mention she purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio the day before and I told her "TAKE IT BACK WHILE YOU CAN!".  This machine is absolutely the worst appliance I have ever owned.  It makes tents out of sheets.  How can anything get clean when it is in a ball and covered over by itself?   it permanently wrinkles anything washed in it.  I can not find an iron good enough to get the wrinkles out.  You have to remove each article of clothing and shake it out before putting it in the dryer for the chance that you might be able then to iron out the wrinkles. Removing the clothes requires untying knots and working the laundry like a puzzle.  We thought we wou...

This washing maching is amazing and wonderful.  I clean lots of clothes during the week and this machine makes my life so super easy.  I have put very dirty clothes in this washing machine and they come out looking like new with little or no effort.  I have also found that I use quite a bit less detergent than I have in the past using other washing machines.  I really like the spin cycle on this model as well.  It spins the clothes so dry that when putting the clothes in the dryer, one would think that they have already been dried!  It takes half the time to dry the clothes after using this washing machine than it would if I used another brand.  I can't speak more highly of this washing machine and hope that this review helps others to try the brand and model out for themselves.  I promise, they won't be dissapointed if they buy it.  It is well worth the money and it saves a lot of energy too!

From the first time I used the cabrio when we first got it to our house, I was hooked..I will never use any kind of wash machine but a cabrio again!  I love the way the machine can sensor how much laundry is in the machine, how it turns to sense how much is in the machine, and how its action for getting dirty cloths clean, well, it works great!  The cabrio does offer presets for temperature depending on the cycle you choose, this model has a Whitest Whites, Towels/sheets, perma press, quick wash, wool and a delecate cycle setting.  It also has a clean washer feature, as well as rinse and spin or drain and spin option.  There is a lot to choose from.  The cabrio featu...

Nice size washer. Holds a big load of clothes.  I live in a house of six people.  Three of them are elementary aged children, so that means lots of laundry.  It works great for large loads.  I can wash lots of jeans or a large load of towels.

My only problem is small or thin clothes.   I snap all bras, remove all belts, tie all strings; but stuff still gets wound around agitator and makes an uneven load.  A silky night shirt even becamed sucked in under agitataor.  I had to pull it out slowly.  It took me twenty minutes to dislodge it.  I have spent alot of time unwinding wrapped up sleeves or leggings legs.  I have read instructions, trouble shooting guide and cannot solve problem.  I will probably have to pay for a  service call.

It does work great for large comforters and such.  I like somethings, but not others.  I would not recommend it, because of the problems with small or thin items.

DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL CABRIO!!! It's CRAPIO!!!

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

My husband and I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio top load washer, mine is a WTW6400SW3 model from Nebraska Furniture Mart 10 months ago. I liked it at first, I could wash larger loads than with my 10 year old, older style one. I have 5 people in my family, 4 of us girls, so we do alot of laundry.

Then I got to know the hell of owning a CABRIO! It sounds like a jet engine taking off in spin cycle. It only takes HE soap. I costs $1000.00. It takes 96 mins to wash a load of whites.

First I started to notice my girls clothes are really wrinkled. Jeans get all balled up and if you don't smooth out each pair they come out of the dryer looking just like they went it...

Please - do not go on the famous Whirlpool name for this washer. It is the absolute worst. I wish I had known. I bought a Whirlpool because I have loved their appliances in the past. This one has had problems since day 1. If it is not one code stopping the wash cycle mid way, it is another code popping up. hate this washer, and I wish Whirlpool wound stand by this product. A one year warranty just doesn't cut it on this washer. Ugh. I wish I hadn't paid so much for a famous name that has apparently forgotten what it stands for.

Maybe they should bring back the agitator, because the new style they came up with simply doesn't clean the clothes.

We paid well over 1,000 for this set less than a year ago and have had nothing but problems! My clothes don't come out clean, and that's after an 86 minute wash cycle! It usually comes up UL (unbalanced load), so I need to open it, redistribute clothes and start it again. The hinge on the lid broke last week. I called Whirlpool today and was put on hold a LONG time, only to have them say "sorry". I'm sorry too!!! Sorry I bought a Whirlpool Craprio washer and dryer!!

Going back to basics

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

At first I had the LG front load, spent nearly 3k on the washer dryer set because I had to have the top of the line. After fighting with Best Buy, (or more like Best Bury) for nearly the entire 5 year warranty, they 'finally did the right thing' and replaced it. Funny, how something like a washer that does work and stains your expensive clothing can make your life hell. Anyway, when I took the articles of clothing into the store to ask the manager if that was what a washing machine was suppose to do (black grease mark on clothes, clothes were being put in clean and coming out dirty), they replaced it on the spot. I asked the advice of the sales person and they recommened the Whirlpool Ca...

Saves water at the expense of clean clothes

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5
Energy efficiency

Highly efficient because it uses VERY LITTLE water, so little that there is not enough to wash the clothes.

Cleaning time
Rated 2 out of 5

Washing cycle is much longer than older washers.

Performance

Dirty clothes come out dirty, clean clothes come out clean, simple as that.

Ease of use

Design
Rated 1 out of 5

Design is fine for water efficiency, but poor for getting dirt out of clothes. Water level is low, not enough to cover the clothes. Aggitation is poor so only the few clothing articles on the bottom of the washer actually get moved through water. Those on top just move a bit while above the water line.

Durability
Rated 3 out of 5

Don't know yet.

Don't buy this machine or any top load HE machine. If you want HE, spend the few extra bucks and get a front load machine.

Clothes still not clean after a 72 minute wash???

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5
Energy efficiency
Rated 3 out of 5

Barely uses any water, probably why some of the clothes are still dry and full of detergent after a wash. Don't know how it saves electricity since it takes 72 minutes to do a load and makes a horrible moaning noise the entire time. My old washer took 30 minutes and the clothese were clean. I used less detergent, clothes are not clean...i used more, clothes are still not clean.

Cleaning time
Rated 1 out of 5

Prewash, regular wash, and extra rinse 72 minutes. Quick wash 36 minutes but your clothes will be dirty. Give it an extra rinse and add 10 minutes and the shirts still smell like old deodorant.

Performance
Rated 1 out of 5

Horrible!!!! If any hair or lint went in with the wash...it will still be there when the wash is done. Sometimes some of the clothes look dry like they were not even touched by water. Detergent and fabric softener residue smeared on clothes and have to re-wash. This is a terrible machine!
