Overall, this was an excellent purchase that I know I will benefit from greatly throughout the years. Load Capacity Coming from a family of five, this dryer is perfect for a large family. It is very reassuring knowing that I will save electricity by minimizing the number of loads I have to dry. It was hard for me to come across a dryer that holds this much clothing, but I am very satisfied that I found this product. I can tell it will be used for a very long time. Performance Not only is it very energy efficient, I have noticed much faster drying speeds since I have switched to this dryer. I feel that it is the perfect dryer to get the job done in a quick amount of time. Ease of Use I had no trouble at all figuring out this dryer. It is very easy to use. Durability I have tested this dryer to the maximum, and thankfully, it is durable enough to withstand a large capacity as well as heavy quilts and blankets. Design The design is very modern and suiting in most environments, especially if you live in a newer home with more stylish decor. I have received many compliments on the design, and I love the color.

We recently went shopping for a dryer. I had no idea what was out there now. It had been quite a few years since we had purchased a new dryer. Wow they have come a long way in the last 10 years. Everything was all digital. It was fun testing out all the buttons. This is a great gas dryer. Has every setting you need but not to many either. 7cu is large enough for the size loads I usually wash. I like the black color. Always had white but i like the look of this one with the black and chrome. Plenty of temperature settling more than you probably need. I like the sensor dry so you are not running it any longer than necessary. I like the wrinkle shield feature too. It takes a little longer but your slacks and blouses come out really nice. Even though most clothes do not need ironing these days, I find that with this dryer my clothes look better than with my old dryer. I am very happy with it Load Capacity It load and drys a nice big load thoroughly Performance Does a good job on all the setting I have used Ease of Use Very easy to use even with the digial buttons Durability So far so good. Time will tell..... Design I love the design and color.

I got this dryer in December 2008. A "gift" from hurricaine Ike. What it replaced was a 20 year old GE so my opinion may be biased. I like that it will sense how wet my clothes are and adjust time for it. I am not used to it even after 2 years. The GE ran like a bat out of heck and did high heat for everything. And I also do everything as a very full load. I find that the sensor works great for stuff on the perimeter but not for things in the middle so I need to add time to the drying cycle. The beeps at the end of cycle scare the bejesus out of my parrot. I forget to turn it down. there is an option to turn down the volume for the beep which is nice. I have only used the steam cycle a couple of times and both times it worked very well. I was (and still am) very proud that I hooked this all up myself. I am not a plumber. One thing I found to be fantastic about this dryer (and the partner washer) is the feet. I am in Chicago area and that 6 month span of time from Aug to Jan we had everything from tornados to a hurricaine to 2 more floods. The feet I adjusted to make the dryer level but when water started to come in, the dryer was hig enough up that the water just passed right under it w/o getting the dryer wet. very sturdy too. I dont find it noisy like the other reviewer, but then again I am comparing it to the GE that did flood and rusted.

The Whirlpool Gas Dryer WGD6400S is a wonderful clothes dryer! We have had it for quite a while now, and it seems to be in use all the time. We have never had any problems with it. We got a super deal on it, but the regular price is inexpensive anyway. This clothes dryer is not noisy at all. We have really been impressed with it. Of course, it is a Whirlpool. I believe Whirlpool is at the top of the list. I know others who have bought clothes dryers and had repair calls within the first few months. Of course, they were brands other than Whirlpool and were more expensive than this one. We simply love this dryer. It dries clothes well, and it doesn't take that long to do it. A simply impressive product. Wished we had this model way before we got it. I really like this one, and I sure hope it doesn't wear out for like forever because I know they'll stop making it if it does. Why? Everything I like gets discontinued. LOL

We replaced our old dryer with the Whilrpool gas dryer wgd6400s model and love it.  It is very user friendly and even the kids can run it by them selves (when they want to that is).  The controls are easy to set and offers a wide range of drying options for different kinds of clothing.  The low setting is great for dress clothes and leaves them wrinkle free without over drying them and shrinking them like our old dryer used to.   The design is very hip and looks great in any home no mater the decor.  It is easy to set up and install and the best part is - the owners manual is wife friendly as well.  The lint trap is easy to clean and I feel it cleans out very well not like some traps that still hold lent no matter how hard you try.  The white color makes it easy to match to a existing washer which is great to not have to replace one appliance if something is not wrong with it.  I would recommend this dryer to anyone.  Great for familys as it holds a ton of jeans and towels.

I'm the type of person to research research research before purchasing most things. We found that most people really liked this dryer, but that it would read errors everyone once in awhile and would be a fortune to repair. We got an amazing deal on a set of a washer and dryer. we've had it for about 3 years now and just recently has the dryer started being loud while it dries. I have not had one single error read on it, and when the vents are cleaned out regularly it dries in a short amount of  time. I wish it had an automatic shut off when it felt the clothes were dry because sometimes it runs a lot longer than needed. It is an energy saver indeed. Our electricity bill has gone down tremendously with it's use. It is noisy though so you would need it in an area where you could shut the door or not be destracted by the noise. It has a wrinkle guard which is nice but also causes it to continue running until it is manually shut off.
