The Whirley Pop popcorn popper is the best corn popper I've ever owned, and I've had several different models. — Whirley Pop is a stove top popper. It's made of very light weight metal, but it holds up just fine. It's thin to heat quickly and pop the corn fast, so it will be fluffy. There's a lid with small air slots to keep the moisture from making the corn soggy. Then, there's a handle to whip the corn around as it's popping. It's really a rather simple machine, but designed just right for perfect popcorn. — The biggest plus is that the popcorn turns are so tasty. It really is… read full review »

This is a fantastic popcorn popper.  I used it tonight!  Just add a bit of oil, put in popcorn and in a couple minutes you have perfect popcorn.  There are typically very few unpopped kernels.  The popcorn does taste like the movies. We like to use olive oil which makes it a bit healthier and that works great.  My daughter also loves to watch us cook. We have an electric cook top and this works well on it - but I must say it worked even better when we had gas.  —  Buy one - they are inexpenseive and fun to use.  They are also easy to clean, but… read full review »

I must admit I was a bit skeptical when I first took it out of the box because I was expecting a heavy pot rather than super-thin aluminum. But once I tried it and found the right heat setting (on my stove: #7 - med-high) all concerns vanished. Plus - it was just as fast as the nasty microwave bags! — — A couple of key things to keep in mind: — — 1. Do not use high heat. Seriously! This isn't grandma's 12lb. stock pot - the aluminum is intentionally thin to allow for quick, even heating and dispersion. — — 2. Because the aluminium is thin, add your… read full review »

I received a Whirly Popper as a gift and didn't use it as I had lots of bagged popcorn left.  But when I tried it I was hooked.  I liked the way it worked where you could control the oil and mix different types of kernals.  I also liked the real butter I could put on the popcorn over the chemicals in the bags (which they are saying could cause problems now). —  I did fine the unit a little difficult to clean and the first few times I made popcorn I didn't use the right oil but after I started doing some research I found ways to make it taste better and better.… read full review »

I agree with the other reviewers that the Whirley Pop makes great-tasting popcorn fast and easily without scorching. I've just had one problem with it, though, that prevents me from awarding it the full five stars. The screw holding the right-side lid handle on came loose and dropped into my popped popcorn while I was pouring it into the bowl. I was able to retrieve the screw before anybody could bite on it, but then I found that I couldn't simply put the screw back in and tighten it down hard (nor could I tighten up the screw on the other side of the lid) because Whirley Pop uses screws that… read full review »

We've used this popcorn popper for years now - in fact, we have 2 of them that we use side by side every Sunday night for our family of 9.  Pops up quickly and deliciously, and wipes clean fairly easily.  We don't worry about cleaning every crack and crevice since we use it so regularly, but if you did, it would be more tedious to wash.  We use coconut oil and salt and it makes for a wonderfully healthy, inexpensive snack.  The only thing we have had problems with is the little window in the top, they have come off both poppers and we've replaced them with aluminum… read full review »

I simply love movie theater popcorn.  If I could have a movie theater popper in my kitchen, I would. — The Whirley-pop is insanely easy to use.  It is priced very reasonably.  Plus, it doesn't require any special corn or oil.  I have been trying out different brands to find just the right movie theater taste. — Since it's so easy to use, I barely put ours away.  If we sit down to watch tv, you can bet I'm making a batch of popcorn to enjoy too! —… read full review »

I got this for Christmas and was excited to use this.  I wasn't disappointed.  I like the premeasured packs of corn and oil, which takes the guess work out.   This setup makes great popcorn and enough to keep a family of four happy.  The only negative and I can say is that the lid after several uses has become loose. … read full review »

WE have had the whirly pop for 4-5 years now.  We have used it with regular popcorn and also the Theatre Box popcorn (which is so delicious) and both kinds work equally well.  All of the popcorn pops and there are no kernels left in the bottom.  The popcorn is quite fluffy.  Enjoy some today. —… read full review »

This is the best popcorn popper ever! The stirring mechanism insures that the popsorn doesn't scortch or burn and makes it possible to use high heat. The popcorn is done in no time and tastes great. It has a wonderful, natural taste - not the chemical taste of microwave popcorn or the stryrofoam flavor of air… read full review »
