This popcorn maker is awesome! I received it as a gift from my mother-in-law for Christmas two years ago and have used it a lot since then. I've also gotten my mom hooked on it, and she's bought a number of these Whirley Pop Stovetop Popcorn poppers to give as gifts since then.
I love the fact that in nearly the same amount of time it takes to nuke a bag of microwave popcorn, you can have popcorn that tastes so much better. And of course you can then control how much oil, butter, seasoning, etc. goes onto your popcorn. You can make it as healthy or unhealthy as you like.
It takes about 2-5 minutes to pop a 6-quart batch. My favorite snack using this popper is kettle korn. Every time I serve this at events, I get rave reviews. The recipe for the kettle korn comes in the whirley pop booklet that accompanies the popper.
The only downsides are that the metal clip that holds the lid on may become bent or loose. My mom had to bend hers with a pair of pliers so that the lid would stay on. Also, the oil may spatter on you from chinks in the top of the popper. I wear pot holders when handling the popper on the stovetop, in order to avoid this.
I'd recommend this popper to any popcorn fan!
