Like many good books, this one is just too short.

This book fascinated me when I was a kid. I didn't understand it then, but loved it. When I first read it to my children, I worried they'd be a bit scared, but they loved it and seemed to understand it. We all have those days when we cross over to the wild side, and look forward to home and comfort when we return. It's natural to be wild for a while but most don't really want to live there. The pictures are just wonderful, and my kids like to narrate when there's no text. Our family highly recommends the other Maurice Sendak books. Don't stick with just this one.
