Most HelpfulWish you could have a makeover, but scared it might be brutal?
Then live vicariously through people who get a style update, without subjecting yourself to any trauma. Occasionally a few of them will have the exact same problems as you (hair that you're afraid to cut, short thighs, a long waist, wide...
Most HelpfulI have loved What Not to Wear even before Clinton came aboard...sadly, Wayne Lukas, though a truly talented guy was probably a little too offbeat.
I think this is actually a public service. I am serious. People do not understand, in 2007, the importance of their public presentation, and hw their appearance does impact others' perception of them. Anyone who says they don't care is kind of tragic. Please care. And take a lesson from Stacy and Clinton. Clinton is simply a charming, generous man and Stacy a true fashion maven..though I don't necessarily agree with all of their choices (I...
review »Stacey and Clinton are out to beautify the world. And they do a darn good job of it. Their style tips and hints are awesome. I often find myself in the dressing room mirror pretending that I were in the 360 mirror with the fashion-savvy pair and they were criticing me. What Not to Wear is the best fashion show I've seen on television. Stacey and Clinton do not hold back when it comes to bad fashion at all either. After just a couple of episodes you will find yourself starting to critique and following their rules when buying clothes. One of the best rules I have learned (and it is a good one) is...
review »I look forward to watching this show each week. I even stay up late to catch it. It is full of information about fashion, how to dress for your age, what colors work for skin tones, and how to dress your particular body type. I really like the Stacie and Clinton, but sometimes I can't believe they said that. I would hope that they realize they are ripping someone's sense of self to shreds. They are often catty and belittling. Yes, I know that they are trying to help but do they really have to be so demeaning? I have issues with the people being made over. If you're not willing to take the advice,...
review »Okay so since I became a stay home mom... I started flipping through channels for good daytime shows...and this hit me! I am officially addicted. Okay okay it may seem like an unimportant another makeover story kinda show... but really I think they are onto something here!!!
Stacey and Clinton may sometimes be blunt and rude sometimes but I find it absolutely necessary for some of their guests. You know what they say about first impressions...I think every impression should always be like a first impression... people have fallen of the wagen when it comes to taking care of themselves! I see...
review »Stacy & Clinton are witty and hilarious in how they associate their clients with their clothing choices. I also like Carmody's make-up tips. I love getting the info about appropriate styles for my body and face type.
I still feel out of fashion most of the time, however, after changing some of my style choices due to seeing someone else with similar wardrobe pieces and body style, I find myself getting more compliments than stares.
Sometimes the comments Stacy & Clinton make are harsh, but the idea is that the individual has agreed to listen to their advice and when they don't they should accept...
review »I love this show because it lets you see how you can really appear to others, while thinking you look fine in your own mind. It made me really look at my wardrobe and go out and buy some decent clothes for my body type. I love watching them take someone and transform their appearance by just changing their hair and what they are wearing. It is fun and opens the door to more opportunities for them all. It is especially helpful to those going into a new career field on showing them what to wear for it. It is really enjoyable and I love the play between the hosts. Sometimes they appear mean...
review »It would be hard to have that all put out on national TV but I don't think I've ever seen anyone not happy at the end. We all get into a "comfort zone" and something like this would definitely break you out of that. I would absolutely love to not only have someone give me money to shop but to tell me what kinds of things would look good on me specifically. It's fun to take the style tips from the show and experiment with them. If any of my friends would nominate me for this show, I'd be in NY in a heartbeat.
We don't realize that what we wear has such an impact on how the world perceives...
