Love the Westin bed, but mine at home doesn't feel the same.

I bought a Westin Heavenly Bed about a year ago. I was so excited because I always sleep so well on the Westin Beds when I stay at the hotel.

Unfortunately, the comfortability of the mattress just doesnt feel the same to me. The first few nights with the Westin bed, I slept so poorly. The bed was firmer than I remembered and even with the plush top, it felt really hard. Understand, this is odd for me to report since I actually like firm beds!!!

After a few weeks, I got used the mattress. But, it still wasnt the best mattress!!!! It just didnt live up to my expectations.

Now, here I am a year later and my husband is complaining about the mattress. He thinks the bed is almost on an incline. My husband (not a huge guy!) is complaining that I am about a foot higher in the bed than he is! He thinks there is a huge divet in the mattress.

We should probably rotate the mattress more frequently, but after a year of use, it seems unusual to see such a divet.

Overall, the Westin Heavenly Bed hasnt turned out to be so heavenly for me. I feel like I need to call the company when I get the moment. Something seems off...

Hi Jolie, I am currently in Heavenly Bed hell - ugh!!! I purchased the heavenlt bed about 2-1/2 years ago and when it was new, it was the most comfortable mattress ever!!! But then, the mattress developed a similar problem to yours where one side was higher than the other. So, I called Nordstrom (where I purchased it) and they immediately had a brand new one delivered. The problem is, the new one was way too firm!! Even after sleeping on it for 45 days, the mattress has softened up a bit. So, Nordstrom did the right thing and had yet another heavenly mattress delivered to me - and guess what? The new mattress is also way too firm. I am really upset about this. It seems to me that along the way, Westin, or Simmons have changed the way these mattresses are made. Now, I am in a really bad position because I can't sleep well on such a firm mattress, and I really didn't expect to have to go out and buy a mattress somewhere else. For the sake of accuracy, I am writing this on Oct 6, 2009.

I was amazed that when reading your comment, I have had the same expericene as you. We bought the heavenly bed two months ago and I wake up with aching hips (I am a side sleeper) several times during the night. I loved these beds on the hotel but I am wondering if they somehow change the ones that you order as they are not as comfortable as at the Westin. This bed is hard as a rock!

Jolie,
We bought a Tempupedic mattress after 30 years of sleeping on waterbeds. I was really scared to leave my waterbed b/c I suffer
with chronic lower back pain. Hubby wanted a firm mattress, but I wanted something a little softer. I kept hearing Tempupedic is the way to go for people with back problems. I hated ours at first but
it loosened up just a bit after we slept on it a week or so. Now we love it. Plus it has a 20 yr warranty. As it well should for the price we paid. I just wanted to offer my input, since you were not
satisfied with your mattress.

Thanks for the message. Ironically, just after posting this review, Westin reached out to me and was concerned that I was not happy with my bed. They were concerned specifically about my husband feeling like he were 5 inches lower than me in the bed! :) They are sending someone out to check out the bed. I was totally impressed with their proactive approach. We will see what happens. Overall, I have to say that I dont love it or hate it (hence the 3 star), but it definitely didnt live up to the hype!

Thanks, this is such a hard decision. I was really drowning in my research. Nothing can be all good. You did help me snap back into my, "buyer beware," mode. What mattress have you decided to choose to replace it and how did you make that decision? Heads up, I have an older Stearns & Foster King and it has served me very well. I'm considering this purchase to replace a memory foam mattress that sunk in the middle on one side, after 3 years. I weigh 110 & husband 170. I think it should have lasted longer. I recently stayed at the Westin and it was a great bed. Or was I just really tired?
