Western Digital WDXMS1200 Passport Portable Hard Drive Reviews

Isn't it great when things work even better than you thought they would? That's the case with the Western Digital WDXMS1200 Passport portable hard drive. I bought mine at Costco for $140 but it is now selling for $90. The WDXMS1200 mostly has been replaced by the WDXMS1600, which has even more storage -- I'll get to its specs in a moment.

This is a great unit.  This is the 3rd mini USB hard drive that I have owned and it is by far the best. I really like the fact that is works with almost any mini USB cable.  I am a traveling IT professional and this unit takes a beating and keep working like a champ. 

In general, I like it. It is really small, it has plenty of storage space and doesn't need additional power. It is very helpful to transfer all my data from office desktop to my home computer. I read some customers had problems with its durability, but for me: so far so good.

Computer storage is always an issue. I create a lot of graphic images for my web sites and Incredimail I realized the best route would be to purchase an external hard drive. I am back to Staples for the purchase and great advice.This is a great place for me to shop as it is only three blocks from my house.

There were many choices but Western Digital has an excellent reputation so I selected the Western Digital Passport Passport Portable Hard drive is best decision I made. The price difference between the two choices was so nominal that I selected the 500GB drive and have not regretted this decision...
