The Best Computer Gizmo I Own

Isn't it great when things work even better than you thought they would? That's the case with the Western Digital WDXMS1200 Passport portable hard drive. I bought mine at Costco for $140 but it is now selling for $90. Not much bigger than a thumb drive — Not much more expensive then a 4GB thumb drive — Has a ton more storage and options — — I have a bunch of thimb drives that I used to carry around - in fact, it was an awkward pocket full that I would carry around. I bought mine after I started to run out of hard drive space on my small 60 gig internal drive on my Mac Book (too many music files!) My friend uses one for transporting files back and forth between his work computer and his laptop at home, as he is a graphic designer and needs gigs upon gigs of storage for his projects everyday. This is a great little drive! I've used the USB Keys for many things and love those, but they are still limited in the drive size (unless you want to spend BIG bucks). Instead, this little diddy has the capacity to hold all my image files! And since it doesn't require a specific driver (Windows XP automatically installs it), it is true plug-n-play technology. It is quiet, too. I have a 250GB external hard drive that whines like you wouldn't believe. I don't notice it if the TV is on or something, but if it is quiet in the area, that whining is a pain.
