fearless about updating my computers, a long-time comptuer user, in favor of LOTS of storage
My wife and I are avid digital photographers and take pictures at a phenomenal rate, easily shooting a couple hundred pictures in an afternoon. My wife processes all her pictures in a laptop computer and constantly complained that there wasn't enough storage in her computer to do the complex image processing she likes to do. I Traditionally, desktop drives (3.5-inch) have always been the ones to have larger capacities over notebook drives (2.5-inch) due to the physical size. That changed just a few months ago with the introduction of the Western Digital WD2500BEVS 250GB SATA Laptop drive . — Running at 5400RPM, it isn't the fastest (compared to a 7200RPM), but certainly the largest we've seen to date. The 250GB Scorpio is a SATA 1.5Gbps interface drive and has an 8MB cache. Western Digital offers a 3-year warranty on this drive (and on all Scorpio drives). —…

Inside the spacious box was a teeny, tiny hard drive.
You can't tell how big this is but it fits on the palm of your hand with room left over.
Here's the drive I took out of the computer. Tiny, huh?
