This product came out of the package, was plugged into the USB port and has worked ever since.  I travel for my job and it is very useful to be able to transport 160GB of data without having to carry around a power cord and brick.  It slips into a pocket in my briefcase and takes up no extra space.  It's also very attractive with a metallic red case.  I will buy more when necessary.
