Out of the box there is no assembly. The Westbend Stir Crazy Popcorn maker is plug in and go. All you need to do is plug it in add some oil and popcorn. Place the cover on and wait. The cover of the popcorn maker doubles as a serving bowl. On top of the cover is a recessed are with a black cover. This is for placing butter in . The butter melt on drips down on to the popcorn. This is a nice feature but I usuall add a little more after popping is done.. The nice feature is the two small rods that spins durin the popping. This allows for a more even popping of the kernals. About 90-95 percent of the kernals do get popped. The orerall construction of the machine is good. The are no switches to mess around with. The power cord is short. Around a foot in length. The bowl construcion is is little thin. As mention earlier you can use the cover as a serving bowl, but I tend to put the popcorn in a regular bowl. Overall this is a very good popcorn maker. There is little to no scorching of the popcorn because of of the rods that are spinning. This provides a more even popping.
