Wen by Chaz Dean Studios Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner Review Summary

This product seems to be a "love it or hate it" one. Wen by Chaz Dean Studios Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner is actually a natural hair cleanser and conditioner in one. It doesn't lather and comes in a pump bottle. Many pumps of product are needed to fully coat the hair, It's left on for about two minutes, then rinsed out. Reviewers who love Wen by Chaz Dean Studios Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner say it leaves their hair shiny, bouncy, and very manageable. Those that don't like the product say that their hair feels dirty, oily, or "gooey" after using it and that their hair looked and felt limp. All agree that this unique non-lathering cleansing conditioner is expensive but the reviewers who love it don't mind spending the extra for a beautiful head of hair. You'd be better off trying a sample or small size before committing to this very different "shampoo". Check out all of our shampoo reviews and choose one for your hair type.

I had been struggling with serious hair issues for a number of years, and when I tell you I'd tried just about every hair product out there I'm not exagerating.  But nothing was working.  My hair was damaged, brittle, a tangled mess, dull and lifeless.

Then I saw the infomercial for the Wen Hair Care...

My diva sister, PattyTherre, introduced me to Wen by Chaz Dean Studios Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner. She had a half of a bottle left and gave it to me to try. I had never heard of this cleansing conditioner so I looked it up online and was shocked to see that this 12 fl. oz. container cost...

I am a slave to Saturday Night Beauty. It's a show on QVC every Saturday night where they talk about nothing but bath, beauty, makeup and hair products. The first time I saw stylist Chaz Dean on SNB was about six months ago I thought he was a little freaky.  He's kind of a quiet, shy guy and was obviously nervous but that's not what freaked me out. It was his like of products called Wen Cleansing Conditioner which is a one step conditioner that cleanses without the use of detergents or harsh chemicals like sodium laurel sulfate.  It does not lather at all. That goes against everything I've...

Hi there!

I wanted to like this product, I really did.  I have spent a lot of time learning something about the chemistry of cosmetics and what shouldn't be involved with your hair and skin, and I was impressed with the list on Wen's label.

You use this product a little differently than a normal shampoo, and I was following the instructions carefully.  I have long, curly hair that tends to dryness, as most curlies do (something to do with the oil not being able to slide down the shaft as easily as straights).  I have a lot of individual hairs, but they are not especially thick.  I was really...

I saw Wen products on QVC one night and decided to check it out online. I am obsessed with taking care of my hair. I know what products SHOULD NOT be in shampoo and always read labels on the package before I would buy, usually going back to the expensive shampoos and conditioners you can only buy at the Salon. So when I saw Chaz Dean mention some of these harmful ingredients that he DID NOT put in his product, it caught my attention.  After doing all my normal research into a product before I buy it, I went ahead and decided to give it a try.  The product arrived and I was soooooo excited to...

I was hoping Wen Shampoo wouldn't work, but it works beautifully. I tried to go back to other shampoos and just use a smaller amount. However regular shampoos immediately dried, stripped and weakened my hair again. Unfortunately I haven't found anything that works as good as Wen. Wen runs about $25 for 6 oz but you only use it once or twice a week. Still I wish there was something comparable without costing a fortune. In only a couple weeks my hair became noticably stronger and healthier. In a month I could tell it was growing much faster than usual. Now I don't have to use a whole bunch hair tamers,... read full review »

Quick View: So many people love Wen Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner that I simply had to try it. I wish I could say I loved it but didn't. I actually didn't even really like it! It makes my hair limp and it's a huge pain to use.

My Take on Wen Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner

This cleansing conditioner is natural and doesn't lather. It comes in a pump bottle and you must use a LOT of pumps on your hair. For someone like me with long hair, 40 pumps are recommended. You have to apply the product, which smells wonderful like almonds and mostly mint, to the lower half of the hair first...

I have long blonde striaght hair.  I had a long curly perm and it was tanlging up, someone suggested buy this product.  I did and what a waste of money.  It did take out the tangles, but it left my hair dull and gooey looking.  It took several washes to feel like my hair was clean again.  Plus this is one of those scam recurring products, you think you just ordered once speak to someone have them swear to you you have not joined a club.  And in the next month your credit card is charged again, again and again.  I did not recv the product for two weeks after my credit card was charged the... read full review »

I received this WEN Sweet Almond mint cleansing conditioner as a gift. I would never have shelled out the money to try this product. Now that I have used this for a while, I really like it.

At first I wasn't sure I would like Wen Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing conditioner. The directions sounded a bit complicated. I was, thinking to myself it was a bit silly to need directions to get my hair clean and the 16 to 24 pumps needed sounded like a lot of product, and felt like a lot, too. There is no lather and that felt strange as well.   I really loved the mint scent, but be warned it is very strong...

Wen haircare products really do work! They leave your hair feeling soft, smooth, and bouncy. It will not strip your hair and can be used every day. The smell is wonderful also. They have formulas for different hair types.  I used the sweet almond mint. In the kit you get a widetooth comb for combing the cleanser/conditioner through your hair, styling creme, texturizing balm, re-moist hair intensive repair mask, and Wen cleansing conditioner.

This product would be perfect except for the very expensive price tag, the amount of product that is recommended per use, and automated shipping. The introductory...

A fashion magazine editor cited this as her number one can't live without product. That intrigued me, so I ordered the starter kit online. I was amazed by the immediate change in the condition and texture of my hair. It made the tangles virtually disappear and allowed for better and longer-lasting styling. I have used this all winter with its companion products and with other products and have been pleased. I'm hoping it will be as effective during the muggy days of summer, when the gulf south weather can turn your 'do into a mass of frizz.

I do not recommend signing up for the automatic...

Wen has a very catchy commercial but once you try the product, there's not much difference from ordinary shampoos. Be careful when you order from their website. Even though I specified when I ordered the initial product that I did not want subsequent automatic shipping, they still sent me a 90-day package 1 month later. They charged me the shipping of that package and then when I returned it, I had to pay the shipping and they will not reimburse me.

Well, I was up late one night when I saw the "Wen" Infomercial and then on QVC another night the same week. This is the first time I really liked what I heard and saw about a product enough to buy it. (with a little encouragement from my husband)

I got the WEN SWEET ALMOND MINT CLEANSING CONDITIONER and was very anxious to try it. Reading the instructions it seemed like a long process. It was! I followed the instructions carefully, I lost count of how many pumps that I had to use (A LOT) the comb that came with it could not comb my hair, so I used a wide tooth comb that I always use, to comb...

Wen haircare products are outstanding when it comes to problems with dry, split ends. After one weeks use my hair is fuller, shinier, and softer. Its AMAZING!!! Just the smell alone makes you want to stay in the shower all day to enjoy. Sometimes the price IS worth it!
