I guess I am in a class of my own because I will NEVER buy this food again for my dog. I have an older dachshund and I bought this at the recommendation of my vet. She was having weight problems and I really wanted to figure out a way to help her. I was told that this food is very good for dogs and after reading the ingredients list, I agreed. It is very good for dogs. It has immense nutritional values. However, these are my two biggest gripes regarding this food. My dog hated it and it made her immensely ill. I first mixed it into her regular food so not to shock her stomach and that was okay. However, as soon as I started to feed it to her by itself, she got very sick. She threw up every single time she ate this brand of food. I do not know if maybe she just has an allergy to it because it seems that everyone seems to love it. My second gripe is the price. I paid $50 (give or take a few dollars) for the big bag and I only did that because I assumed it was going to help my dog be healthier and assist with her weight loss program. That price, to me, is just over the top. I can understand the need to charge a bit more for good foods, but that price is absolutely ridiculous. My recommendation is that if you want to try this with your dog to buy the small bag first or even try to obtain a sample somehow. That way you can judge how it will affect your dog. I have since switched to a much cheaper brand and have had no issues since then.

I have both my dogs (a weimaraner and a german shepard/hound mix) on Wellness' Super5mix Dry dog food and I have to say it is definitely worth the extra money. The weimy's coat used to flake a lot but only does it now on a rare occasion and her coat has become a beautiful dark color (she is the 'blue' color weimaraner) and very shiny. The German shepard's coat is really shiny too. They both gobble it up, which has been a problem for the weimy in the past. I have tried both the Lamb, Barley & Salmon(green bag), as well as the Whitefish (blue) and but they seem to like the Lamb one better. Quality of Ingredients The products in Wellness are all natural. I always check the ingredients for all products i give my dogs and wellness is always good. Flavor Selection Wellness has several flavors that you can have the dogs try. We have tried several--we started our german shepard mix pup on the puppy flavor when she was younger and typically have both of our dogs on the Lamb & Salmon mix now. We have also tried the Whitefish flavor, and the healthy weight chicken. They gobble up the Lamb the most.

Wellness Super5mix Lamb,Barley & Salmon Recipe is a natural dog food with added vitamins and minerals. My dogs go crazy for this stuff! And I feel good about feeding this food to them. All you have to do is call them and get out of their way!

Wellness dry dog food has transformed our two dogs' lives. It's made of only the best ingredients and well-worth the price premium above and beyond supermarket-brand foods. It's very high in bio-available ingredients, which simply put, means that everything in it is "used" by the dog....there's very little filler/bulk, which is a good thing all around. The lamb variety in particular is a favorite of our two golden retrievers, and we've noticed HUGE improvements in their skin condition and the quality of their coats. They're glossy and healthy and have taken off extra pounds since we introduced Wellness. The only other food we add to wellness kibble is raw food. Chicken backs, necks etc. The ultimate confirmation has really been in our visits to the vet...both of our dogs are now 8 years old, and easily pass for 4-year-olds. Their bloodwork is excellent and their energy levels are enviable. This is the only food I ever recommend to my fellow dog owners!

My boxer has been on Wellness since we brought her home, and I have to say that I am so happy that she has been on this dog food. She has never gotten sick in either direction, if you get my drift, and her coat is so shiny. She looks super healthy and is very lean and muscular. She seems to love her dog food every time she eats it, and we get compliments on how pretty she is all the time. She just looks great on this dog food. We joke to our friends that Jada eats better than we do. I recommend this dog food over and over again to anyone that has a dog. I will say that at one point, she was on the Wellness Core, and she actually started losing weight even though we increased her food. So that's why we switched back to the Complete Mix and she's been on it ever since, which is great since it's a little cheaper.  This dog food is really the best that is out there, and they do offer coupons every month which is also great.
