I have two Chihuahuas, one who is 4 years old and doesn't really have any problems and one who is 3 years old and has had massive chronic digestive problems since I got him two years ago.  Jack has had aweful bouts of uncontrollable diarreah with blood and mucus in the stools and I have been taking him to different vets who rans all sorts of tests and could not find anything wrong with him.  I was starting to get really worried because Jack is a great dog but I was getting so sleep deprived from having to take him out 4-6 times a night so he could have BMs that I really was starting to think about if I could continue to deal with this.  One day when I was at work it hit me, maybe he has food allergies like my co-worker who is allergic to gluten.  I researched dog foods and found out that a lot of them have nasty preservatives and sub-standard ingredients.  I happened upon Wellness and found out that it has no by products, no corn, no soy, and no wheat gluten, which makes it friendly for dogs with allergies.  My dogs have been on this food for a month now and Jack is no longer having issues with his BMs and I am getting a full nights sleep again!!!  This food is great and both of my dogs really seem to enjoy it.  Another plus is that if you sign up on the Wellness website they will send you coupons pretty regularly which is great because it is on the pricier side but so worth it!

I found Wellness Super5Mix Small breed because I was looking for a high quality dog food with healthy ingredients but had a minimum crude protein amount lower than 40%. I had been feeding my 7 and 9 year old toy poodles another premium brand with minimum crude protein of 47% on the regular food and even higher on the weight loss version. My vet told me that this amount of protein is OK for younger, active dogs, but was putting a strain on their livers; they even had some protein in their urine. With 28% minimum crude protein, Wellness Super5Mix Small breed was one of the few good dog foods that met my criteria for a healthy food with quality protein, and no by-products. The big surprise was how my dog's behavior changed after eating the food. They actually became more active, less lethargic. My 9 year old has even lost about 10% of her body weight. I should note that I feed them a little less than the guidelines on the bag, because the guidelines are usually based on a dog who get 2 hours of strenuous activity per day (according to NC State Vet School).

Even today there is alot of misconceptions regarding dog foods. The biggest for me being that fact that corn is not digestable by dogs, even though some companies but corn on their bag! After putting my maltese on Solid Gold, i saw that it did not agree with him so I went with Welness, and everything seems to be going well. He is a picky eater, and did not like Solid Gold, but he does like the Welness food. Welness also is always sending me coupons via email and mail to use, which is always helpful. Welness is a bit pricy, but since I have a small dog, it doesn't matter much, although I would still buy it if I had a larger dog. It is great that the food does not have corn or beet pulp, wheat gluten or brewers rice all of which is a way for farms to get rid of things that human wont eat.

I tried to switch my pug over to this food since it is such a natural product. Unfortunately, she hated it and showed her distaste for it by spitting every single piece from her bowl all over my house! I called the pet store and they said it wasn't the most tasty food and we could bring the bag back.

After trying to switch to a healthier less grain diet, we recently tried Wellness. One of my dogs loved the switch and one did not like it at all, I didn't want to have to buy two brands, so we tried 2 bags, flavors and no luck. I have toy breed dogs, so the size of the food was great, but it did not smell good at all.

I love feeding this food to my dogs. Wellness dog food maybe a bit high in cost but well worth it, especially if you really love your dog. If your dog has any special diet needs where the dog or cat cannot have gluten or meat by products. They do have deals if you sign up with them.

I am definitly a dog person. In fact i love animal period. Wether it was my dogs or my fish i always want them taken care of so that they can live a full energetic life. Right now i have a pekinese dog that i love very much. I have tried different kinds of dog foods. From low end to high end to see which she likes. It's hard finding a dog food for a dog that is so spoiled like mine is. Hapily i found the wellness super5mix dog food and as happy i did. She loves it so much. She barely lets me get to the dog bowl to feed her. She only weighs less than 11 pounds and pushes me out of the way. And she gets right into the food. What i like is that the dog food has wonderully healthy ingredients. My dog is already eleven years old and thanks to this dog food she is running around acting like a puppy again. She even has a nice coat on her in her old age. And pekinese are not known for lasting a long time. But fortunate i am that she's healthy. If you want your dog to live a long healthy life try thi product. Your dog will love it.

I use to feed me dog a couple other brands of dog food and he used to have diarrhea sometimes plus his coat didn't seem as healthy and shiny as it does now that i've switched to this brand. he use to shed like crazy and he still does but i think it's a lot less now. he seems to love the flavor because he just inhales it within seconds which is kind of bad because he chokes every once in a while. i wish that they would make one where the pieces are just a lil bit bigger so my dog can actually chew and slow down when he is eating but they're in so tiny triangles that he doesn't chew at all. he's almost always full of energy now, i don't know if it's because of the food or not but before when i would get up to go to another room upstairs or somewhere he would remain lying down on his bed but nowadays he just follows me everywhere i go and always wants to play. so i would recommend this product to anyone who cares about their dog.

I have 2 Boston Terriers and finding the perfect food for them was proving difficult. One is allergic to wheat and corn the other to soy and super picky. After researching and trying several grain free brands I decided to try Wellness for Small Breeds. WOW...what a difference it has made! The Duo is thriving on this food. They have healthy shiny coats, they don't itch all the time and they have more energy! An added bonus is the infamous Boston gas is minimal, which means happy tummys and noses...lol! I would and have recommended this brand of dog food to friends and strangers alike!
