I have taken Wellbutrin, in all its forms, off and on (mostly on) for over ten years. Every time I quit taking it, I feel horrible. However, the good effects of it only seem to last for a week or two. For the first few weeks I feel so energetic and like I can do anything I set my mind to. My depression gets so much better, and I even quit smoking. After about 2 weeks, the depression is back, and grows from there on. Every time the doctors "up" the dosage I have that same 1 to 2 week "high". As of now I have been taking it pretty much non stop for about 4 years (the generic bupropion xl). I also take generic Prozac, which I will review on its own. In general, I would say that if someone wants to give Wellbutrin a try, they should. I know people who have had much better success with it than me. Good luck!
