So, at some point in November before Thanksgiving I was shopping at Wal-Mart and selected 10 things of yogurt. I buy different brands and flavors with the hopes that I will actually like something. Well, I must admit that I struck gold with the following: Weight Watchers White Chocolate Raspberry.
This was a 6 oz. cup of nonfat yogurt sweetened with Sucratose. If you are doing Weight Watchers this would be 1 point. As of late I have read many reviews where people referenced fiber content and/or prebiotics and probiotics. WW's White Chocolate Raspberry is high in fiber and has both live and active cultures. I have heard that yogurt is good for the digestive tract but I don't eat it often enough to know if I am reaping those benefits. I say something is good my digestive tract if I can retain it for more than an hour because most food products have a tendency to want to purge themselves from my body rather quickly. For those with Celiac Disease, Krista, or other problems that require a gluten free diet, Katrena, this is gluten free.
White Chocolate Raspberry is a very smooth almost too creamy yogurt. There are little bits and pieces of seeds that are from the raspberry. The raspberry gives it a tart and sweet taste and the taste lingers on your pallate. If there was supposed to be some form of chocolate in this product I could not taste it but that was fine with me because I don't care for chocolate. I purchased it believing I might be okay with a little white chocolate since it would be mixed with raspberries. This yogurt is basically a raspberry yogurt. A true chocolate lover would be disappointed with this product because you would realize the chocolate flavor was missing.
I have always thought that many people eat yogurt because it was low in calories, possibly fat free and had the BB-12 Probiotic cultures. To understand the prebiotic and probiotic cultures just look up a recent review that PattyTherre published. She did a wonderful job explaining the significance of that. I am a person that also watches carb intake and I wouldn't eat this yogurt on a regular basis because it seems to be rather high in carbs for such a small serving size.
Nutritional Facts: 1 6 oz. cup is a serving
I purchased the WW's White Chocolate Raspberry from Wal-Mart and it was approximately 55¢. Weight Watchers offers a variety of flavors so I may be checking out some of the other ones.
