To the Point

I'm back on Weight Watchers which means raiding the freezer section in the grocery store. Smart Ones Fruit Inspirations are a new line in Weight Watcher frozen entrees. I chose Honey Mango Barbeque Chicken for about $2.99.

A Closer View

This is a 9-ounce package with 5 points. Weight Watchers has changed their original formula but using the first version which I think is easier I can eat between 18 and 21 points a day.

After microwaving my Smart Ones Fruit Inspiration (Can be cooked in a conventional oven as well.) I saw about a dozen decent sized pieces of white chicken with a sweet and spicy, thick sauce. The package calls it a "honey barbecue sauce." The sauce had a bite but I liked it although I usually don't like food with bites.

There were pieces of mango in the sauce. It was all very tasty. Along with the chicken was orza pasta. I said " yum" at the first taste of the orza pasta. It was mixed with peppers and spinach. I can say this dish was excellent.

You'll get 240 calories and 3.5 grams of fat. It has 14 grams of sugar which is a lot even for the Weight Watchers meals. I imagine the mangoes add sugar. It has less than the average entree in sodium coming in at 490 mg which is still high. It has 9 grams of protein and 34 grams of carbohydrates.

I'm sure you don't want a list of the ingredients but if you do let me know. The first one is roasted chicken tenderloins with a whole lot of items in parenthesis; however, note there are no by-products in this chicken which is a good thing. Many of the other ingredients I can't pronounce and don't know what they are.

Jo's Viewpoint

I like it alot. My rating is turning a blind eye to the ingredients and rating the taste.

I'm not one for sweet foods but this does sound pretty good!

I prefer home cooked chicken. Just take off the skin and eat small portions is my motto.

If you can't pronounce it, do you think it's really GOOD for your body??? In the near future, I predict that prepackaged "food" will contain no actual food of any kind...
