It took me along time to join Weight Watchers, but I'm so glad I finally bit the bullet. The Flex Plan is remarkably easy to stick to and lose weight on. BUt this review isn't about the plan, itself, it's about Weight Watchers' brand Giant Fudge Bars.
Remember those great fudgecicles you used to get as a kid? Rich and chocolately, they really hit the spot on a hot, summer's day. Well, Weight Watchers' has managed to make a low-fat versin of these that taste exactly like the real thing, but have a WW point value of only one point. Most people on Weight Watchers have a daily points allowance of 20-something, so every point really counts. When a snack only takes away one of your daily points, that's worth celebrating. When that snack is not only low in points, but completely delicious and satisfying, it's a snacker's Mardi Gras.
The secret in making these both delicious and low-fat lies, I believe, in no hard chocolate shell...so no butterfat. And who needs it? I always preferred fudgecicles to Eskimo Bars, anyhow. Also, they don't use a sugar substitute, but real sugar, which is fine for dieters, as long as it's used in moderation (and as long as the dieter is not diabetic.) Also, they clearly use real cocoa, because the taste of these frozen treats is that of rela chocolate...notthat fakey "chocolatish" flavor you sometimes encounter in diet desserts.
Summary: Delicious, low-fat, high in fiber, NO CHOLESTEROL, low in WW points, easy to find at just about any grocery store, fairly priced, and satisfying. Plus, um...CHOCOLATE. Hello? I said chocolate that tastes great and that you're allowed to eat.
