My entire life I have never been considered a thin girl. I topped out at 220 lbs. when I talked my mother into joining Weight Watchers, mainly because I was concerned about her health, she used to be thin and put on a lot of weight in the past few years. She had tried a lot of different diets - Atkins, The James Coco Diet, pills, South Beach, NutriSystem. I watched her try them all. Some worked for a while, but in the end she always gained the weight back because none of these diets taught her how to eat right. None of them taught portion control. They all either eliminated something necessary or her on disgusting tasting pre-packaged foods.

We started Weight Watchers together in February, we both chose the Flex Plan because we do enjoy fine dining in restaurants and not limiting the types of food we want to eat. We have learned to watch our portions by point counting to the degree where we are no longer conscience of it. We love to cook and try all kinds of new recipes we find in the various cookbooks, the Weight Watchers magazines, on e-Tools, and that we learn in class. To date, mom has lost 53 pounds and I have lost 40. We still have a ways to go.

The greatest thing about Weight Watchers is you are not on a diet, you can enjoy everything, you just have to watch the amount you eat. You definitely can not eat fast food and pizza every day, you do have to cut back on the amount of fat and salt intake, but you do not have to eliminate it from you life completely and you always feel happy and satisfied.

It is the one and only system I have seen that really, truly works and that is why it is the only one I have bothered to do.
