Comments about Wedderspoon Raw Organic Manuka Honey Active 12+:
Well I just feel terrible saying anything bad about this honey which seems to be helping so many with so many maladies but I'm not a honey lover anyway and this is plain bitter tasting. Its creamy and pearly beige in color. It doesn't mix well in hot beverages.
I simply was curious and thought perhaps it would be yummy like Seedless Black Monukka Raisins! How stupid of me. The m"a" has nothing whatsoever to do with the m"o".
Manuka honey comes from a plant in New Zealand in the Tea Tree family and it certainly tastes like it. I can neither stand the smell or taste of Tea Tree, despite its also excellent medicinal reputation. But if you like full flavored bitter honey you will love this stuff and from what I'm reading you'll be healthier for it too.

Honey has a bio availability rating (who knew?). Wedderspoon displays the **OMA** number, which stands for **Organic Manuka Active**. The higher the number on the label the more potent it is. Other rating systems are:
- ***UMF*** stands for Unique Manuka Factor. A standard that grades honey based on its anti-bacterial strength. It ranges from 0 to 30.
- ***OMA*** stands for Organic Manuka active. This mark shows that the raw Manuka honey is certified organic, and active.
- ***MGO*** stands for methylglyoxal, which is the active compound in Manuka honey.
- ***Monofloral ***means one flower (in this case, the bee take from only one species of flower.
"It is full of potent antioxidants and natural anti-bacterial properties keeps itself fresh naturally without any preservatives or refrigeration. Manuka honey does not spoil, expire or "go bad", and actually develops even stronger properties with time, much like those renowned, highly sought after fine wines! So you can rest assured knowing that in the rare circumstance that the honey is not polished off quickly, it will only get better with time on your shelf! Dogs, cats, horses and pets have benefited from our products as well, particularly for external and internal applications."
The **12+** Honey is supposed to be good for:
Manuka honey is known to destroy many strains of bacteria including Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Staphaureus and especially exciting is its ability to kill Helicobacter Pylori (the stomach bacteria associated with stomach ulcers).
The Manuka pollen is collected by honey-bees from the Manuka tree (Leptospermum scoparium). The bush only flowers between 2-6 weeks of the year and comes from the same plant family as the Tea Tree in Australia. This is one of the reasons why the honey is regarded as a great product to use both topically and internally. A natural solution for digestive maintenance.
Their **16+** honey is for:
Active Manuka Honey is used internally and externally: **Internally** : Taken by the teaspoonful up to 3 times a day depending on your condition, the OMA 16+ is what we recommend to aid in the treatment of gastro-intestinal disorders such as acid reflux, Helicobacter Pylori, upset stomach, stomach ulcers, peptic ulcer, diverticulitis, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome and even heartburn.
**Externally**: Its for the treatment of burns, scrapes, infected wounds.
MAKE SURE YOU ARE** NOT ALLERGIC TO BEE STINGS** or other bee products such as Royal Jelly before you consume or use honey in this manner.
