Weber One-Touch Gold 22.5 Charcoal Grill —

Nothing but the best.

I barbecue year round, despite dropping temperatures in the winter.  For this reason I was in the market for a strong and durable charcoal grill (because everyone knows cooking over charcoal just tastes better).

I had heard good things about the kettle style grills vs some of the other shapes and styles.  The roundish shape of the kettle style seems to create a sort of convection grilling area.  I've also found it possible to use the Weber as a miniature smoker because of its volumous space and excellent venting.

There are other brands out there with the kettle style, but don't be fooled.  I tried a competitors brand out, and discovered that they didn't have the porcelain coating on the grill, or the aluminum legs and vents to prevent rust.  Without those features if the grill is subject to year long adverse weather conditions it is unfailingly going to rust.

On the downside, the grilling grate seems prone to rusting, and needs to be thoroughly cleaned and oiled after each use.

All in all, I wouldn't use anything else.

Thanks for touching on the issue of rust. That's the most common failure of charcoal grills - the legs rust out. This will influence me when I buy a new one next Spring. Aluminum legs and porcelain coating are what I was interested in.
