Update:

Several weeks after writing this review the toaster oven started smoking. It is not in our basement and I have bought a new one.

We needed a new toaster and usually buy inexpensive small appliances and replace them frequently. I picked up Home Cookin by WeatherWorks at one of the large department stores for $20. The website http://www.weatherworks.net has it for around $34.00 but I am sure you can do better. The model number is 6868.

Pros

Home Cookin by WeatherWorks Toaster Oven

  • is attractive. I got it in black but it also comes in white.
  • is compact. There are only 2 of us who eat human food in my house so the fact it will fit 4 slices of bread is just fine.
  • has an easy to open cool touch door handle.
  • has feet that do not skid on my counter top.
  • has a baking tray and a grill rack.
  • has a power light so I know when the toaster is on.
  • has a full ranger of temperatures.
  • has a 60-minute timer but also has a stay on feature so I don't have to time something.
  • has 3 settings: broil, bake, and toast pizza.

Cons

  • I am lucky enough to have cleaning help so I didn't notice this until I went to review my HomeCookin Toaster Oven - it doesn't have a crumb tray. I've had so many toaster ovens and I vaguely recall having others without a crumb tray and it is a pain in the neck. My last one had a crumb tray (I think). If you are buying this small toaster oven you probably won't have too many crumbs to shake out but that is something of which to be aware. We put down aluminum foil on the bottom - just a tip.

Measurements: 9 inches deep (including the metal in the back); by 13 inches across; by 8 inches high.

Jo's Viewpoint

I like my toaster. It does a good job toasting and baking. I don't broil in it and have not used the toast pizza function. I find that interesting because on the once in awhile occasion we have pizza we do like to toast it in the toaster oven so that's a plus for me.

For the price it is a great deal.

Yep, definitely need a crumb pan. I'm surprised because I thought all toaster ovens came with them.
