My favorite set of cookware

5

This is my very favorite set of cookware, especially the 3-quart pot. First, every piece is heavy, high-quality stainless steel, and the set is very affordable. Even purchased separately, all the pieces are quite inexpensive for what you're getting. I love the cook and strain feature, which makes it easy to strain things like pasta, grains, tea, whatever. The handles do get hot, which is inconvenient, but the cookware is so lovely otherwise that I tend to overlook it. I find these pretty easy to clean, even when food has gotten burnt onto the bottom (like the occasional forgotten pot of rice). My 3-qt pot, especially, is really discolored on the inside bottom, but still works great and shows no sign of wearing out even after about 5 years of constant use. I love the 3-qt pot so much because it's big enough for cooking most soups and stews and curries, but also works fine for smaller batches of food, like pasta or pasta sauce.

Wearever Cook & Strain Cookware Set is fabulous!

I think my home was like many others, over time, your once new pot and pan set has become scratched and dented and was perhaps even missing a piece or two due to one cooking mishap or another. You put off replacing it , but I can tell you if your are there, I know just the cookware set for you to buy. I work in the kitchen department of a major retailer and often admired the **Wearever Cook & Strain Stainless Steel Cookware **Set. I purchased it a few months ago and I am so happy with it. It has a beautiful stainless steel exterior and has a nice weight to it with tempered glass lids that allow you to see the food you are preparing through the glass lids. It is very sturdily constructed with riveted handles and comes with a three year (limited) warranty, which is very generous. The pans have fabulous spouts which makes draining of water from your pasta, etc a breeze, even with the lid on! This is a premium cookware set at a fair price that will last you for years.

This cookware is a great value!

I received the Wearever Cook & Strain Stainless Steel 10-piece Cookware set as a Christmas gift.  I wanted an upgrade from the cheap non-stick pots and pans I had been using, which had been shedding Teflon in eveything I ate.  The Wearever set is definitely an upgrade and exactly what I was looking for.  First, I should mention that they are a nice weight, but they are not as heavy as some of the more expensive stainless steel cookware brands.  So, if you are looking for heavy duty pots and pans, these are not for you. However, I think the weight is perfect because they sit evenly on the stove and conduct heat well without being too heavy to lift.  The lids have a cook and strain feature with two different sized strainers on each side of the lid and pour spouts on the sides of the pots. I love this feature!  It makes transferring soups or other saucy things a breeze without dribbling liquid everywhere.  I cook a lot, and I would recommend this cookware set to anyone.

I was given a wearever stainless steel sauce pan with a glass lid. The pan comes with a drain lip and the lid had holes on the side to help with drain liquid off food.  I have really enjoyed this pan.  I use it for just about anything in cooking: boiling potatoes, noodles, cooking soup and sauces, making candy, etc.  The pan is heavy and conducts quite evenly. Once an liquid is brought to the desired temperature, I can usually turn the heat down and keep it cooking.   Once potatoes or pasta is boiling, I turn my stove top burner down to a 2 or 3 and it will keep the liquid boiling.  The lid is so handy when I want to drain potatoes or pasta.  It has a flat bottom which I needed to use on my smooth top range.  I have found the pan to be easy to clean.  I never use steel wool on it. I know that helps to keep it easy to clean.  I have only used soap and water or Bar Keeper's Friend to clean.  I much prefer this pan over my non-stick pans and hope to own more in the future.

So practical and durable!

I have been using this cookware since I got married 6 and a half years ago and have no complaints with it! It has held up well to a variety of applications in the kitchen and is easy to take care of. My favorite pieces are the 10 inch deep saute pan and the 5 quart dutch oven. I brown meat all the time in the 10 inch saute pan and it is SO convenient to drain the grease off through the straining lids! No more trying to tilt the pan a certain way and making a mess. With the Cook & Strain system, you just place the lid on the pan and pour the liquid out of whichever size straining holes you prefer (there are 2 sizes). This pan is also deep enough that I can make a good batch of spaghetti sauce right in the saute pan! The dutch oven is such a great size for making soups and stews or boiling pasta noodles. After boiling the noodles you just replace the lid and pour the water right out with no need to drag out a strainer!
