To the Point

Marquis by Waterford Allegra Platinum Wine glasses were one of the glasses my daughter and son-in-law chose for their registry. We used them over Thanksgiving. They looked wonderful on the table.

A Closer Look

Just as a "by the way" my son-in-law really doesn't like these. He prefers much larger glasses for wine. I put these on the table for water and/or wine.

These are made of lead crystal and felt fairly durable. They aren't as heavy as other goblets I have used. They are made in Slovenia.

These glasses have a beautiful rim of platinum on each glass which was a reason she chose them. Her china is rimmed in platinum.

Each glass is 8 inches high and costs $25.00. They are not machine washable!

There is a fluted type design on the base of the glass. You can see it in my picture but you can also see it and buy this glass here: http://www.crystalclassics.com/marquis/stems/allegraplat.htm

I just love the heft and feel of good quality lead crystal glassware. Unfortunately, I drink mostly alcoholic beverages and I've been worried about possible lead leaching into the drink, so I rarely break out the "good stuff" any more...(except for big holidays).
