    29.98% is this legal?, unacceptably high interest rates

WAMU, essentially roped me in with a low introductory rate and then WHAM hit me with 29.98% finance charge based on my credit rating...I'm confused, if I'm a credit risk, why extend me credit?  To make money off hapless consumers like me!  I DO NOT recommend WAMU.
