I have had my washington mutual credit card for 3 years. I had a great Annual percentage rate in the begining. I had never had a late payment. Upon reviewing my credit card statements every month, I soon discovered that my Annual Percentage Rate had gone up drastically. It started at 15.9 percentent and continued to go up over the course of 6 months. I jumped from 15.9 percent to 21.9 percent. After having it at 21.9 percent for about one and half years, it then jumped to 29.9 percent. I was having to pay twice as much as the minimum to have the balance go anywhere. I would suggest for people to pay attention to the credit card staement every month to monitor the Annual percentage rate. I called the bank to see if they could lower my annual percentage rate. Since Chase had purchased the washington mutual bank, there was nothing they could do. They told me to call back in 6 months. I have since put my washington mutual mastercard on a credit consolidation program.
