Am I the only one that can't stand a front loading washing machine?  My washer smells like mold which makes my clothes smell like mold.  I have a Bosch Nexxt 500 Plus Series.  I have contacted Bosch to find out what I can do to get rid of it, but nothing works.  I got rid of another front loading washer (a different brand) because of the same thing.  I had a top loading Maytag for 20 years and never had this problem.  What is up?

I wouldn't like a front loading washing machine either.  I'm surprised that after  your first bad experience with this type of machine that you didn't just buy another top loading Maytag instead of investing in another front loader.

I've heard an earful about problems with front-loading washers over the years. Bad smells and mold are among the most frequently mentioned problems, but heavy vibration and mysterious error codes that lock the door and prevent the clothes from being removed are others. I have two top-loading machines that have been nearly trouble-free for a combined 25 years. My wife keeps muttering about getting a front-loader but I will keep talking her out of it.

I have the same machine that you do.  I don't however share this problem.  I wipe down the door gasket and leave the door ajar between washes.  I do howver use bleach for my whites, so perhaps that takes care of the problem.

I have a Sears brand front loader.  Uses less water and much less detergent.  No problems with it for a couple years now.     I had a  used  Kenmore top loader for 12 years, a few minor problems... but it kept going and going

I have had a front loader for the last (8) years and I do not have mold-smell problem, but the washer has begun to shake occassionally.  Would I buy another?  Yes, becasue ut saves water, and energy.
