GE Washer - Profile Top Load - WPRE6100G

This washer has a serious design flaw. If you think on the Hot cycle it fills the water from your hot water tap, think again. It dilutes the incoming hot water with cold to the "perfect" 105F. To me this is tepid, not hot.

I complained to GE people that the hot water is not hot enough, and they said that the PerfecTemp Target Wash Temperatures: Hot- 105° , Warm- 90° , Cold- 60°.

However, the owners manual says "Make sure house water heater is delivering water at 120°F–140°F (48°C–60°C)" .

Something does not add up. I should NOT have to heat the water only to get it...

Miele Touchtronic W1213 Front Load Washer

Miele Touchtronic W1213 Front Load Washer
Willing to pay for quality

2009

Do not buy a washing machine or for that matter any other product made by Miele.
I purchased a Miele washing machine and it arrived nearly a month ago with a broken drain hose connector. Despite Miele's marketing claims of wonderful customer service, my experience has been miserable, and utterly sub-par as compared to my experiences with GE, Jenn-Aire, LG and other manufacturers (I have done numerous renovations in recent years and have purchased numerous large appliances). First, it was nearly impossible to reach their customer service department (waits on hold of up to 30 minutes). Second, after...

After 2 years of dealing with this machine, i've finally gotten rid of it.  I've had the drum and motherboard replaced, yet I'd still get error codes.  It makes a huge amount of noise and the mold issue is completely unacceptable.  Sears has horrible customer service.  I'll never buy from Sears again.  I went to Lowes and had a wonderful buying and installation experience with my new Samsung front loader.

I was so excited when I purchased this washing machine.  After a few weeks things turned.  From the start clothes came out very twisted and wrinkled, not to mention they came out cleaner with my old maytag.   I also experienced coins falling thru the washer.  When I called Whirlpool they basicly said 'Oh well, call a repairman'.  This sure seems like a design flaw to me.  I have a family of 6, so I DO CHECK POCKETS!  Even so, things have been missed.  It dosen't seem right to need a repairman to remove 15cents.  F1 and load codes all the time.  Now it is locked in a mode that won't spin...

Kenmore Washer and Dryer

In the summer of 2007, I bought a Sears Kenmore Premium Washer model 11024942301. In the late autumn of 2009, it vibrated so bad, we thought the basket would fly out of the housing and kill someone.

Today, Nov. 7, 2009, the Sears service technician said it needs a new gearcase, a new basket drive, a new sub-coupler, and a new block-drive, which, with labor, would cost $545.00.!!!

My previous washer was a Whirlpool and lasted 25 years. I figured that a Kenmore would be just as good, since it is made by Whirlpool. But everything is made in China now, so shopping for Chinese products is like throwing...

LG TROMM Washer - Front Load

LG TROMM Washer - Front Load
Willing to pay for quality, Homeowner, busy mom

NOV

2009

We bought an LG TROMM washer and dryer 2 years ago.  We despise them.  Having had a Kenmore for 15+ years with no problems, the LG is a SAD, SAD, SAD comparison.  If you do not take your clothes out of the washer right away, they will smell and you have to wash them again.  This is because water builds up in the unit and turns stale fast. So if you do not do a tub clean with bleach frequently then the unit smells.  The dryer has paint chipping off on the inside rim of the door frame.  Ridiculous for something that is just barely 2 years old.My former Kenmore units looked brand new even though...

Ok... this machine rocks!! I have 4 sons. 3 of them play contact football and get really dirty.

This machine gets everything super clean!!

I love all of the options for water temperature and load type.

It's very quiet too. Holds a ton of clothes and still gtes it all clean!

The spin function on it is awesome. When you get the clothes out they don't need very long in the dryer because they are almost dry. It does spin so fast that I end up ironing alot. I don't mind it though.

It's a great machine. I use it about everyday for at least 2 loads of laundry.

Highly recommend!

I just purchased this GE washing machine online through HomeDepot.com. I was in diarer need of a new washing machine because mine was not draining on the regular cycle and would have to put it on another cycle to drain, then put it on 2 different cycles twice to spin the clothes good enough to get the water out...ugh...what a pain...but kept putting it off, until my husband said enough already lets go get ya a new washing machine. So I went shopping around to different places to see what all they had. Gosh some of these washers are unbelievable with all their gadgets they come with now (it's...

My GE front load washer was a dream at first but after it started breaking down constantly it became apparent it was nothing but trouble.  It cleaned well and was gentle on good clothing.  But after being repaired it was never the same again.  I guess there are good and bad ones, I just happened to get a dud.

Frigidaire Washer - Affinity Front Load

Frigidaire Washer - Affinity Front Load
Mr. Fix-it

NOV

2009

After doing some research on a problem with my Affinity Front Load washer that was showing an E23 error (problem with the drain pump or controller circuit), I am seeing that many people are having issues with the draining of the water at the end of the cycle. In my case, a wire from and underwire bra made it's way down to the pump and wedged itself into the impeller, effectively stopping it from spinning. Looking back to the days before this problem, I heard a noise that sounded like a playing card in the bicycle spokes, so it all made sense once I found the culprit.

Unfortunately (for us consumers)...

Kenmore 800 Washing Machine

I suspected this machine design was defective when I did my first load.  The sensor, when on rinse cycle and when washing kingsize cotton sheets, will only put a two or three inches of water in machine tub, meaning the sheets eventually will be worn out in washing, not from use.  When washing bath mats, same thing.  It has torn $80 worth of quality/expensive bath mats to shreds.  I would NEVER recommend buying this machine, and just to save my clothes and other washable materials will probably sell or give it away and buy another.

Whirlpool Duet Sport Washing Machine

NOV

I bought a Whirlpool Duet Sport Washer and Dryer in December, 2008.  On October 26, 2009, the washing machine gave out.  Not even a year old.  The repair service recommended by Lowe's, where it was purchased, came out and said it needed a new computer.  Waited one week for that to come.  Wrong part.  Now they say it needs a new main computer (whatever that is).  Part is not available in Atlanta, Georgia.  Don't know how long I will have to wait for that to come.  Don't know if it will even work.  Needless to say, I am not happy, having to drag my clothes to the laundromat.  Neither Whirlpool...

Kenmore Washer - Front Load HE2 Plus

We've been through two Sears Kenmore front load washers in the last 8 years!  Prior to that we had a Sears top load machine for 23 years.  Like most things today, everything made is throwaway.  Be prepared to spend an additional $200.00 + on extended warranty because it is evident that Kenmore has zero confidence in product that they put on the market.

Perhaps all washers are like that now; can't say but I do know that Kenmore is a product that consumers should avoid!

Disappointed Consumer
