the Happiest Place on Earth... on a budget? Exactly! There are so many great deals, but our favorite is the free food ticket! Disney usually offers this once a year, and usually for dates from June through September. This is SOOO worth it! You get one free "counter service", one free "table service",...

Vacation trips to Walt Disney World have become something of an obligatory rite of passage for American families, and while you might get the impression from all of the reviews posted on this site to date that all is perfect, idyllic, and magical, the reality is that it is just a theme park, and an extremely... review »

My mom, who has multiple disabilities and has been really sick, announced a few weeks ago that she wanted to take me to Disney World for my birthday. Having planned to fly down to Florida for my birthday anyhow, and not wanting to refuse my mom anything, I agreed. Who am I kidding? I've always wanted to go to Walt Disney World! Of course, the fact that my mother needs a wheelchair to get around for anything more than a few steps was a concern of mine: a day ticket to The Magic Kingdom is $70, and I hated the idea of her spending that kind of money if there would be nothing for her to do at the...

I can not say enough about Walt Disney World.  Most people think that Disney is a once-in-a-lifetime trip, but for me, I like to go at least once a year.  If you look for the specials that Disney runs for the value season, which is also the best time of year to go because there are fewer people, you can get great deals!

Disney makes it easy for their guests without hurting the quality they offer.  We frequently stay at the Moderate level resorts which are just amazing.  There is a huge difference between the budget and the moderate hotels, but not as much of a difference between the moderate...

I hate DIsney. I hated it when my parents draggedme there at the age of 17 (my brother was 12) and I hated last November when my aunt chose it as our Family Reunion Destination.

Growing up, I watched THe Wonderful World of Disney every Sunday evening and still claim Dumbo, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Mary poppins as some of my favorite movies. But Mickey Mouse and the gang? Never got it - they are not funny, not that cute, and just planin unentertaining to me. I loved Warner Bros.! Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, and Daffy Duck over Donald any day of the week.

At the gate, the employees upsell parents out...

We've been to Disney World 2 times...once 10 years ago for our honeymoon and once in 2005 as a family (one boy, age 5 at the time). What can I say? It's an amusement park. A very large, sometimes overwhelming one especially considering that there are actually 4 separate parks now. But if you plan ahead and play it smart, it can make a very rewarding family vacation. I recommend purchasing tickets in advance. We got a good deal on tickets online. We bought 3 day park hopper tickets. We used the park hopper feature a lot more than we thought we would, but it worked out best for getting to... review »

There truly is no place like Disney.  It really is a place where dreams can come true.  Unfortunately they come at a less than family friendly price!  Disney tickets themselves are not cheap and for most of us we have to travel to the location as well.   It was a disapointment the first time we went that we weren't cut more of a break inside the park with the prices we paid to get inside!  You could easily pay for $10.00 for a coke & a hot dog from a vendor.  You could go the theme resteraunts and they will be interesting with a nice atmosphere but if your hoping for quality and/or tasty...

If you are planning a trip to Orlando do your homework first. Subscribe to Mousesavers.com. It gives great ideas to cost conscious travelers.  If you are traveling with a pet do a search for hotels that cater to pets. We stayed at the Radisson Maingate for $70.00 a night and was able to take our two dogs. There was no extra charge and the hotel was only 10 minutes from the main gate. They have shuttles that will take you to and from the park. Try to travel there when kids are in school. You will find that it is less crowded. We usually go in April or May and have found that we hardly have to... review »

I've been to Walt Disney World twice and I'm going again in December with my boyfriend. I can hardly wait for the upcoming trip because it is a combination of my FAVORITE place during my FAVORITE time of the year. We made reservations for breakfast with Winnie the Pooh and friends and I can't wait for that because ever since the day I was born I've always had a Pooh Bear. Disney is truly the happiest place on earth, and I will be able to enjoy it with the man who makes me the happiest!

WOW!!! We just returned from a week at Disneyworld and I have to say it is THE BEST TIME our family has ever had together.  There is so much to do, so much to see, and the best part of it all is you're doing great stuff together as a family.  It doesn't matter if your young or old, grown or a child, you will have a TERRIFIC time at Disneyworld.

Going to Disneyworld as an adult was a very different experience than it was as a child.  But it's still just as fun as it ever was.  They've updated a lot of the rides that I enjoyed as a girl.  The Pirates of the Carribean now features Jack Sparrow...

Took my five year old daughter on her first trip to Florida and to see Disney world. It is a magical place. I went when I was in my teens but to see it through my daughter's eyes was so great. We did get lucky because the place was not crowded. The lines were short and sometimes there was no line. The people were nice and there were deals galore all over the place. Oh and of course the weather was so niceeeeeeeeeeeee! I came home and froze. We flew there and the flights were great. Would go again in a heartbeat!!! Oh and even though they are not cheap I would so recommend getting a stroller there....

Like about 80 million families this summer, I took my kids to Disney World.

 MISTAKE!

I knew it would be crowded, but nothing prepared me for the non-stop jostling and impossibly long lines for everything everywhere in the park. Many of the rides had lines up to 2 hours long. 2 HOURS!!

Disney has a Fast Pass system, which helped us a bit, but I'm convinced that contributes to the long lines.

I don't know what Walt was thinking when he plopped the park down in Florida, but it sure wasn't consideration for summertime visitors. Every single day was over 100 degrees and 100 percent humidity. The park...

We just returned from Walt Disney World in FL where my husband and I had a marvelous time.  The weather wasn't very cooperative - it rained 7 out of 10 days we were there - but the Disney cast members proved the show could and would go on despite the weather.  The shows were fantastic, the rides lots of fun, and the food was pretty awesome just about everywhere (better than expected in some cases).  Overall, we really had a good time and are ready to go back, as soon as my tired feet recover!

A Walt Disney World vacation is worth every single penny!  Give in to the dream - you won't be dissapointed!  Before I had children, I really could have cared less about Disney.  I almost resented the commercialization of fairy tales and family fun, but I have done a complete 180!  I absolutely love the Disney attitude - dreams do come true if you believe!

Being the mother of three little girls who adore princesses, pink and anything that sparkles, I have been submersed head first into all things Disney.  I love that Disney has embraced the family values that seem to be completely missing from...

I've read some of the reviews on Disney world travel. And yes it's expensive and takes alot of planning, but it is so worth it to see the light in your child's eyes when they meet a character or watch a parade-there a dozens of them-to have gone through all that for them to have a magical time. The budget motels are not bad it's like staying at a Days Inn or Super 8 but better if there's anything you need someone will assist you with it. My daughter was 6 when we went and of course had stuffed animals with her they were always neatly arranged in cute patterns by the maids every day when they cleaned... review »
