We just were in Walt Disney World for 5 days over Veteran's Day weekend. It was a girl's weekend, I took my 7 year old daughter and her friend and her mom (Chris) came along. It was awesome, her friend and her mom had just been to WDW in June and offered a wealth of information, that was very helpful to me who had not been to Disney since the late 80's. We booked through AAA and stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort, airfare, hotel, park and meals already paid for when we got there. The resort was very nice, rooms were great and clean. The pool was very enjoyable for the girls, very attentive life guards. The alcoholic drinks at the bar were too expensive. We did the meal plan which was fantastic, I am glad Chris knew how the program worked b/c it was a bit confusing. She suggested paying for breakfast instead of using meal plan card and use meal plan to pay for more expensive meals like lunch or dinner. We went to all 4 parks via WDW transport buses, which is very nice. I think maybe as we got into the Holiday weekend they needed a few more Park buses running, they were very crowded at times.
The parks were all fun, I liked Epcot's SOARIN' and the Test Track funnnnnn!!! The Magic Kingdom is always a blast. The fireworks and the nighttime parade at the Magic Kingdom are fantastic, you cannot miss them!!! The fireworks are to music! The Christmas decorations in all the parks are just beautiful, Cinderella's castle had small blueish white lights that made it look like it was sparkling with diamonds. I wish we had a few more days to take in the Christmas festivities. MGM had a High School Musical 2 singing and dancing program, to any 7 year old girl is just awesome. MGM has mostly shows to watch, but they are really good! Animal Kingdom has a new roller coaster called Mt. Everest, I did not go on it,but Chris and the girls said it was fun. We won Dream Fastpasses (Year of a Million Dreams) at the Animal Kingdom, we were able to get on all the big rides with little wait time.
We did character meals, breakfast in the Animal Kingdom with Donald, Mickey, Goofy and Pluto, very fun!!! We had dinner at Cinderella's Castle, we met Cinderella and got our pictures taken, meal was wonderful, a small show by the mice and Fairy Godmother. The girls were given magic wands. Then another day we had lunch with the princesses in Epcot. These were all fun and the food was great, we got tons of pictures.
Disney thinks of everything and has the bases covered. I will always book it with AAA and stay at a WDW resort because everything is taken care of! Your luggage is even picked up and taken to the resort to your ROOM! We plan on taking the twins in 2009. It was magical, exciting and more fun then I ever imagined.
