I hate DIsney. I hated it when my parents draggedme there at the age of 17 (my brother was 12) and I hated last November when my aunt chose it as our Family Reunion Destination.

Growing up, I watched THe Wonderful World of Disney every Sunday evening and still claim Dumbo, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Mary poppins as some of my favorite movies. But Mickey Mouse and the gang? Never got it - they are not funny, not that cute, and just planin unentertaining to me. I loved Warner Bros.! Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, and Daffy Duck over Donald any day of the week.

At the gate, the employees upsell parents out of any semblence of "affordable" deals to the park - multiple passes, unecessary packages, you name it. And they are not veryinformative, either. I can't remember which park has the stuff I like and which doesn't... The Magic Kingdomis mostly for little kids, and I was there that day with my husband and my parents - all adults. And halfway through that miserable day, when we were all ready for a beer, do you think anyone could give me astraight answer about wehre to get one? "There is no alcohol in The Magic Kingdom," the Disney employed girl repeated over and over to me, like a freakin' robot. My friends told me there was some adult-oriented island in the park somewhere - with bars and such - and I just wanted to know where it was! But she wouldn;t answer me!! FREAK!!!!!

Big sigh. The Pirates ride was fun. They've incorporated several Capt. Jack Sparrows into it and I enjoyed that. We also liked The Tower of Terror and The Haunted Mansion. Classics. That was all we got to do all day, though, because the other 6 hours and thirty-five minutes were spent IN LINES. Absolutely ridiculous! You'd think they'd have a better system by now, after all they've been at it for fifty or sixty years.

IN the other park the next day,we never even got to get on the Raiders of the Lost Ark ride... At 11:45 am, the "Fast track" ticket time was "next available line entry at 5:45 pm." But we had a dinner reservation, so no Raiders.

WHat a waste of time and money. ANd the food - horrible!!! I am happy to say that there was at least a vegetarian option at most spots, but the black beans I ate with my nacho chips looked like poo. Thick, thick, sticky black poo. ANd it was like $7 for two "tacos" - shells with the black bean poo and access to a fixin's bar - lettuce, cheese, pico de gallo type salsa and sour cream. There may have been guacamole and jalepenos - I forget.

I will never go to Disney World again ever, no matter whose idea it is. Terrible. I will stick to REAL destinations, not overpriced,fantasy pseudo-resorts.

Yep, food and drinks are priced crazy! They are that way at most theme parks these days! --Karen

I love Disney and wish I could afford to take my own children. It is too expensive for most of us. We went once and I think that it is ridiculously overpriced. A bottle of water for 3.50? OMG.

I can't wait until our first grandson is a little older (he's almost 1) for a trip there. We are in Louisiana so not a bad drive...around 12 hours. Enjoyed your review!
