This is the MOST amazing vacation my family has taken.  It's been over a year and we are still talking about the memories.  We stayed at the budget "Pop Century."  It was adequate, clean and convenient.  The food there was nothing to write home about, but again it was adequate.  The things we did not like about the Pop Century was that people's nasty cigarette smoke drifted through the thin walls and into our room. Also, the walls were so thin that in the morning when people were getting up to go to the parks, we heard doors slamming all morning--as early as 6:00 AM.  BUT the hotel pool was great, the service was great, the room was adequate in size.  We never used the shuttle, because we had a car.  It's easy to get from park to park driving. I recommend a car, because that way you can leave outside the Disney area to get meals if you get sick of what's in the park.
We went over the 4th of July week for 6 days.  We live in California, so we are used to dry heat, but the moist heat was quite different.  It was HOT and STICKY, but honestly, it was tolerable.  We stayed wet--I recommend bringing one of those spray bottles with a little fan OR you can buy one like we did for an outrageous $17 in the park.  BUT we still have it and use it.  Since we went when it was so hot, we LOVED Blizzard beach.  It was our favorite. They have the most amazing water slides.  There was plenty for our 3 almost 4 year old to go on there so don't let having small kids deter you. I also had my 15 month old there and he loved every minute of it. The best was the family water slide.

I could go on and on--the cost of Disneyworld is cheaper than Disneyland overall.  Yes there is the cost of flight, but the food and other stuff is half the cost in FL as in CA. We just went to D-land this summer and were amazed at the cost difference.

My last comment would be to stay 10 days if possible. We were there 6 full days and it wasn't enough to see everything.
I recommend this to every single living person, if possible.
