Walt Disney World - Orlando, FL Review

There truly is no place like Disney.  It really is a place where dreams can come true.  Unfortunately they come at a less than family friendly price!  Disney tickets themselves are not cheap and for most of us we have to travel to the location as well.   It was a disapointment the first time we went that we weren't cut more of a break inside the park with the prices we paid to get inside!  You could easily pay for $10.00 for a coke & a hot dog from a vendor.  You could go the theme resteraunts and they will be interesting with a nice atmosphere but if your hoping for quality and/or tasty food, forget it.  You have to get to the fine dining for good food but beware, some of those you will also get more "feeling" for your bucks than delighted taste-buds and a full-stomache.

If you have a family of 5 you can either all cram into a few of the tiny 5 person rooms they have on-site or you can get two rooms which will again cost... more money.  The resort rooms are again unique and you are paying for that atmosphere.  Not quality not necessarily a peaceful sleep.  There are perks for staying on-site however but they are becoming less and less.  Pick up a Frommer's Guide for the current year to get the best bang for your buck and get the most out of the park and what it has to offer.

Having stated many negatives we have been 4 times because there is no other experience like it.  It's definately worth going at least once to experience for yourelf but be prepared...the best prices and best time to travel are as you may guess "off season" and there are reasons why it's slow.  It's normally not a convenient time and nornally not great weather, etc.  When you go during prime time (which are all the convenient times for an average family) be preapred for long lines (some 2 hours for rides), hot humid weather, large crowds, and lots of cash to quench your thirst... you have to pay for water as if it were a soda....  definately crack the piggy bank before taking this trip.  It will be the both the best (great fun, adventure, amazing atmosphere & unique family rides) and the worst (crankiness, sweaty, tired, broke!) trip you will ever take!
