Walt Disney World - Orlando, FL —

I have to admit, I love Disney World. I think it is one of those love it or hate it types of places. I believe that I love it because we went every year as children and it reminds me of those times. With that said, I do see some changes that I do not like. This will not be all puff and fluff about Disney.

We stayed at the Polynesian. It was very expensive but the room and the grounds were beautiful. I think it is a personal choice about how much you are willing to spend for a place to sleep. There were two pools, one with a water slide, "Beach" access so you could watch the water parade, an arcade and three (four if you count poolside) places to eat at the hotel. Also, this hotel is on the monorail system which makes it perfect for those traveling with a small child. The only down side to this hotel is the scale. It is so large that it takes a while to get anywhere.

We stuck to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot for our visit. When you have a 3 year old with you all they want to do is be in the Magic Kingdom (who can blame them!). The MK was great but the I think that the food quality has gone down. It was perfectly spotless as always and the one popcorn spill we saw was in the process of being swept up. The characters were everywhere and easily acccessable. The park gives lisitings of all the times and shows. If you can read and/or ask a cast member you can navigate Disney and see all there is to see.

Epcot was also just as clean. It is a little harder to navigate with a small child because they are not as interested in the back half of Epcot which is the "world". The World is a representation of countries which all have a show or ride and a store that demonstrates that country's culture. In the front of Epcot are the educational rides and the character spot. The Character spot is a great place to get all of your photos in one spot.

We had a wonderful time but it is hard to do Disney on a budget (for me). I say pinch your pennies and save save save so you can spend spend spend in Disney because believe me you will.
