We got wooden TV Tray Tables from Walmart for a gift, and they are very useful. I don't mind eating at the dining room table, but I'd rather eat at the computer or TV. It is a family joke that my mother and I can eat anywhere while my father will not budge from the dining room table. In the winter, when the dining room is cooler, we use the tray tables for meals in the den. They fold up so they are easy to store away somewhere. They're also easy to clean and move. I can eat a hamburger without the table, but a plate full of food needs to go on the table. It's hard to balance a plate of food and type on the keyboard! The only drawback may be getting fingers pinched while folding the table, but I'm willing to take the risk.
